This texture was generated in Filter Forge, a Photoshop plugin that allows you to create your own filters.
This filter disperses and mixes color values from color gradients fairly evenly across an image. It is about the best way I've found of making a dispersed, randomly mixed color field.
Varying or changing any given color value will somewhat alter the entire field but keep the dispersion and random mixing of the colors.
Switch positions correspond to the following component types:
1. 3 color gradient
2. noise gradient
3. spectrum
4. 5 color gradient
Note that the color spectrum has no color inputs, therefore, no color controls in the main interface.
Note also that you only need to use any two of the gradients. Just remove the rest from this snippet and plug your two into where the switches plug in. I added all the color gradients here to show how each works with each other.
