This effect was generated in Filter Forge, a Photoshop plugin that allows you to create your own filters.
A filter that disintegrates your image and reassembles it into a pseudo-cubist style collage/paintin
Tips:
- This filter heavily relies on the randomizer to bring up interesting variations in the collage. Once you have found a candidate, fine tune the image via the controls.
- Choose your input image carefully. The filter won't necessarily work well with every image you throw at it, and won't produce the best result on just a click of a button. Experimentation is the key. Ideally, the subject image should be high contrast, with well defined areas of light and shadow as well as broad areas of color.
- The Palette View enables you to fine-tune the palette. Use the different View Modes to see the original offset image that gets sampled (Mode 1), the Palette itself (Mode 2), the grayscale elevation (Mode 3) and the colored collage (Mode 4). You can also use View Mode 4 for fast previews of the collage!
