This filter creates a rough surface texture. This filter can either simulate a stucco or a linoliem texture based on the light probe used.

To produce a linoliem surface use the "Entrance Night" light probe and a surface height setting of 1 or 2 in the lighting effects tab.

To produce a stucco surface use any probe other than "Entrance Night" along with a surface height setting of between 2 and 5 in the lighting effects tab.

This filter has a color swatch which can be used to designate the midtone color range.

The variations button can be used to vary the pattern.

*The lighting effects tab greatly influences textures for this particular filter.

* This filter looks best with low surface height settings 1-5. The pixel size should be set to the maximum size.

January 29, 2008
This is a simple filter that uses "Set Alpha" to generate line/mesh patterns over a transparent background.

This filter has been reworked. To get an effect similar to the original filter, set both color swatches to the same color.

This filter uses an elevation gradient in conjunction with the highpass filter. Inner Shadow = Radius; Tune Pattern = Contrast.

***The Inner Shadow slider determines the gradient spread.

***Use Tune Pattern to set wire guage. This is a highpass function and the Radius (Inner Shadow slider) setting will have some influence.

The Add complexity slider is a repeat function. The higher the setting the more line segments. If design becomes disjointed lower this sliders setting.

Other sliders of interest are the Offset sliders. Use these to offset shapes to expand pattern variety.

This is a second version of Mesh 3D. The control set was too scattered to allow for inclusion of original filter and texture effects. The original Mesh 3D has also been updated. See filter library for Mesh 3D.

***The Design Thickness slider creates the smallest design at setting 1. Unfortunately, the slider will not react to thicken the design until it's around 50+. I haven't worked out how to get around this.

***There are three texture controls on this filter. Texture Surface controls size texture applied. Texture Grain controls grain size. Lastly, the swirl size can be controlled using the Texture Swirl slider.

Use the "Sphere Size" slider to scale the planet/orb.

This filter includes three color swatches to adjust the color of highlights, "land", and "water". The "Blend Masses" slider allows the user to soften the edge transitions to create either solid land area or gaseous clouds. The "Coastal Edges" controls edge characteristics...higher settings increase roughness. The "Increase Land and Water Size" sliders adjust size/shape of terrain. The "Variations slider" may also be used to vary the terrain.

Opacity, radius, and blend mode sliders are included to adjust the highlight. The highlight area can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally.

When "Atmosphere" is checked, cloud cover is added.

***NOTE: This filter REQUIRES the "Size,Pixels" slider be set at the maximum amount.

***NOTE: This filter REQUIRES the image be square. It just doesn't work correctly on non square images.

The "Star Dust" color swatch allows the user to select a color for the star Dust. Some user experimentation is necessary as not all colors will be visible over the starfield. Hint: Mid-tone colors seem to work the best.

The "Galactic Light" slider controls how much light is exiting the galactic starfields. Pulling the slider to the extreme right will clear away the nebulae effect.

The effect is limited to the high contrast areas when the "Spread Glitter" slider is in the 0% position. As this slider is moved to the right, the effect will thin and spread into lower contrast areas of the image.

The glitter color is applied using the Color Burn blend mode at 60% opacity. Due to using the Color Burn blend mode, the glitter color will be varied throughout the image and won't necessarily be the exact shade you select for glitter color.

To get the glitter effect, this filter's default is anti-aliasing Off / Edges Only. Use the "Surface Height" slider in the Lighting effects tab to adjust how much the glitter sparkles.

This filter will make seamless tiles but it was designed to do distortion effects from images.

I have included presets but type of filter works best by using the Variant button. With this in mind, the filter is optimized to use larger image chunks when the "Variant" button is pushed.

The "Shift All Horizontal" moves the entire pattern vertical; the "Shift All Vertical" moves the entire pattern horizontal. By using these sliders the user can center the final pattern.

One note: If you get to 100% when using the "Shift All Vertical " or "Shift All Horizontal" slider... and need to move some more in that direction, go back to 1% then start moving the slider. The slider will pick up where you left off.
