Rail Slat Profile

August 5, 2010
I thought this would be a useful tool for making a profile of a classic stone style rail slat. Most of you guys realize the power of the z style alpha. The blur adjust has a pretty drastic affect on the result. So I would reccomend keeping that less than 4 unless your going for something really different.

FF Novelty Module

July 16, 2009
Quite often while staring at the modules during a filter design I
have wondered how similar one could create a FF module from
inside of FF. Hopefully you will agree that you can indeed create
FF design component modules as output. With enough time and
computer power one could create a whole filter design with multiple modules as the texture output! haha.
This filter is sort of an imitation of itself. I do not imagine that many
people will need filter forge design components as textures.
But as a novelty and an exercise it is fun.

Tire Tread Rad

May 27, 2009
Just some great modern tire treads for motorcycles, dirt bikes, hot rods or any other tire use. The coloring is black and grey with dominant amounts of grey. Many 3d tires I have seen tend to be too dark. Where as in the real world there is usually a fine layer of dust on tires that gives them a lighter appearance. Most of the patterns have a combination of symmetry and partial symmetry. Which I have noticed to be the case in some of the newer cycle tread designs. For perfect symmetry which is more common on auto tires just copy and paste one half onto the other and flip horizontally in your preferred graphics editor.

May 4, 2009
A fairly simple filter for generating plywood and a few other various wood types. Such as nice grains for fine furniture,
driftwood, gnarled wood and particle. Use the Wood selector for
different blends of noise, distortion and refraction along with blend modes. Many different styles possible for your wood base.

Drop Shadow Alpha

April 27, 2009
This is a nice quick way to add some nice shading to your image.
It also doubles as a maskmaker with "alpha adjust" being equal to the sensitivity adjust on your magic wand in Photoshop.
Playing with color variations and soften will give you many color effects combinations. You will get best effect with images that contain a modicum of contrasting highs and lows.
It is also great way to add shadows using a layer and then playing with blend modes in Photoshop with your orignal.
After blending surface and shadows or with the colors you like
you can sharpen up the structure by reducing pixel size.

Center Trans checkbox gives a clearer view of the image underneath, unchecked simulates glare. Great for some game
environment textures that do not as yet support dynamic shadows!

Image Fluorescence

August 25, 2008
With this fun filter you can give your image wild bright color
combinations in an embossed form. Use the Trans Back switch
to create overlays. You can go for detail or soft emboss with
the Soften Shape slider. Reducing the pixel size significantly
creates a 60's era fluorescent fabric look. Zero saturation in combination with reduced pixels on Rotate Bands 2 gives a tight mesh weave to your image. Have Fun!

Thanks to Uberzev for his star snippet and his Uberflex repeater
for the small stars. About half way through this one I realized
that the timing was good as I finished this one on 6-30-08

Designer Frame 1

Additional options also come in the form of being able to select choices in Margin and Content. BG = background, img = Image,
clr = transparent, N = Noise for a sand or wall effect.
Decreasing the margin and choosing bg for the margin gives a more substantial frame look.
Tried to limit the controls, hehe a bit, yet still renders pretty quick.

Image Noise Adjust

to combine various effects to a wall or floor design.
The included controls allow for a surprising number of different
looks while remaining mostly at a tolerable rendering speed.
However 'Roughness' will slow things down a bit.
You can achieve effects from concrete and cement to metalics
to rusty worn looks as well as many other.
