Controls Overview:

Nebula Color Range - Increases/Decreases the color range of the nebula
Nebula Color Shift - Shifts the color range of the nebula
Nebula Density - Increases/Decreases the thickness of the nebula
Nebula Scale - Adjusts the size of the nebula
Star Color Sat. - Adjusts the saturation of tinted stars.

Use the "Size, pixels" slider to adjust star density.

Normal Map Channels are Offset Maps

November 2, 2006
** Not intended for use on photos like depicted in the example on the left. **

Takes a height map and converts it into a normal map.

In all reality, this filter is useless as a normal map filter. The results aren't great due to the way the refraction component samples from outside the bounds of the source.

When a height map is used as the source image (what you should be using during height to normal conversion anyway), the issue can be resolved by adjusting the strength slider.

The trick is to adjust the slider so you get the most contrast and the anomolies dissapear. Lower values are better.

The true meaning behind this submission however is to demonstrate how a height map can converted into it's corresponding horizontal and vertical offset maps.

False Anaglyph

November 2, 2006
Creates a pseudo functional anaglyph image.

At present, this filter works well with the default preview image because a simple height map is generated for it.

However, this filter could be modified to accept an external height map and then it would work with other images.

Control Overview:

Height Map Dist. - Controls the strength of the height map distortion.
Separation - Controls the amount of separation between the red and blue channels. (50 = No Separation)

WallpaperGen

October 23, 2006
A fairly simple filter that generates a textile wallpaper.

If anything, it demonstrates one way to simulate the apperance of a heavy stitched fabric.

Aside from that, I was going to implement a few pattern generators and such but this thing takes quite some time to render as it is.

OpenGL Blend

October 23, 2006
A filter that attempts to mimick explicit OpenGL blend modes.

The premise is best explained here...
http://www.modwiki.net/wiki/OpenGL_Blendmode_%28Materials%29

For the most part it's useless. It's really just for demonstration.

I haven't implemented alpha channels as there wouldn't be much point unless I could reference a second image.

Color Math

You can add, subtract, and multiply two sources.

It has one downside that I haven't been able to find a solution for. There is no divide.

Color Bleed

October 23, 2006
The human eye contains more rods than cones hense the eyes are not quite as perseptive to hue as they are to luminosity. So, in select cases, this filter can be used as a noise reduction filter.

Out of that context, the effect is similar to a "soap opera dream sequence".
