Great effect, but way too slow -- I'd recommend to find a way to speed it up. Other than that, a good candidate for an Editor's Pick. | |

Thanks. Its kind of a work in progress, as I threw it together pretty quickly and didnt have time to optimize yet. I'll get to it soon. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid Mac beta!" |

Alright. Update submitted.
The slow rendering speed was due to various noises with high roughness and detail being fed into a dreaded highpass node. I added a "Details" slider to better control the rendering speed while still allowing for high detail if needed. The default preset now has Details = 0 and should render pretty fast. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid Mac beta!" |

Spent some time again scratching my head over streamlining this filter. Ripping out the highpass and re-designing the 'edge' detection made it about 3x faster, but the effect isn't 100% to the point anymore in my opinion, so I am not submitting it as an update.
I attached this 'LITE' version below for anyone interested. It's unsupported by the way, so use at your own risk... Crumpled Paper LITE.ffxml --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid Mac beta!" |
