thanks...
yeah I'll update the default ... in fact I thought I had a better default. You know how you sometimes save a filter and it overwrites the default preset? I think that's what happened. (that's one for the wishlist)

The default preset you saw, saved and submitted probably didn't have 'Seamless Tiling' activated. For the library, all the presets get rendered with 'Seamless Tiling' on, and thus you are seing different presets now.

It does seem a pity to spend the time tweaking your presets for the optium result to have a leser version appear.

Taking a quick look inside the filter, I immediately wondered whether there could be an 'esoteric' reason you are using uberzev's snippet in there. The Perlin Noises all have an Angle control built-in after all... Wink

There is a reason for that. In fact my first version was without that snippet; rotated by noise and faded from top to bottom. But I wanted to fade the tear to any angle... so... thats the 'esoteric' reason. I know it would be faster without but it's not that slow is it?
(Of course if there was some rudimentary way of coding in there I'd test the noise angle and only use 45 degree fades, who'd notice.)
I even tried to combine the rotation snippet with the proportional gradient snippet (since posters are rarely square) but I'm not that smart/patient.

From the sound of it, I've gotta try this out for myself beyond just looking at that picture. I like ragged, torn effects. This might be good for my next freakshow matte! Smile
