Looks cool, but it's way too slow.
Try to get rid of the Cells component (you can achieve a similar look with Perlin noise + custom profile curve). The stretching part can be done without Refraction (it is costly) -- use the Offset component + a non-linear gradient as a vertical offset. High Pass is also costly, try to avoid it unless absolutely necessary. One final suggestion -- visually, the filter structure is very hard to decipher, try to organize it in a tree-like arrangement. |

water filters are fairly easy to do. water WAVE filters, not so much. nicely done! Ya can't sell art to artists!

and whereas i still think this is one of the best ripple filters, there is something 'hard' about some of those edges that gives it a more solid look in places. maybe a blur in there somewhere would take that down a tad. take variation #2, for example. it almost looks like paint. you can see it in #8 too. but then, i'm such a nit-picker that i shld probably be ignored most of the time Ya can't sell art to artists!
