Thanks Carl, Steve and Persidio. I am very proud of this one.  It may be slow out of the gate but I think if people will work with it a little they will realize that it has a lot of flexibility. I use a technique of using the edges of the image to glue the grunge into the cracks that helps sell the grunge. I tried to organize the controls in a way that allows the user to start at the top and work their way down to systematically select exactly the type, quality and amount of grunge they desire. Unfortunately the eight presets do not do a good job of representing the starting points for grunge generation; for that I would have needed 432 presets – and that is just the basic bookmarks for beginning the grunge generation. This is the first one of my filters that I think *should* go high even if it ultimately doesn’t.

I think this filter looks awesome! Great work. Revisit it in a month and you will be surprised how much faster you can make it without losing anything. I think it is a HU Do a good turn daily.

Before we drive the usage down on this one too far I just want to add that this is not a poor performing filter. When I mentioned that it may be slow out of the gate I was referring to its adoption by users not to its render time. I do not want anyone to hesitate to download it and try it out because it is slow.

I like it Persidio, very nice. You are much more subtle than I am. I usually pile on the grunge then overlay even more grunge so you can barely make out the image - nothing subtle about my work.

Strange but true - I have a theory as to why but I will leave the speculation to others.
I am still at the introduction stage. It is going pretty well but there is some serious breadth I'm dealing with here. I will be glad when I get past the introduction of new material and actually begin a project of my own. It cannot be skipped though and it has allowed me to think about what I want to do. I can imagine projects that would necessitate a partner. A lot of the images and scenes I used to look at and see magic and mystery I now see hard work and attention to detail. It has changed me. The hard part is that life is making a serious attempt to throw me off track - and life in this case is big and strong - I call it 'Mr. Life'. I hope it cuts me some slack soon.
