LOL... we think alike!!! I was playing with it last night... another Celtic one ,,, can't say the name yet is in the works. I also was coming up with a similar design for it... also,, I have this in a silver base as well as gold... and of course the colors can be changed anyway already. I'll seriously take a look at what you were doing (((((thank you jffe)))))) Somehow you knew I wasn't done playing with this one yet huh?
Oh trust me I know... LOL... been playing with it... to be honest I luv the Celtic designs so much... I'll have at least 4 Celtic ones by the time I'm done.
Really? Oh sheeze,,, thank you so much for catching that for me~ I put this one down today for some other filters I needed to get done... working with Ub's snowflake filter at the moment (marrying it to one of mine... still in the early stages). Ready to take a break from it and head back to work on the Celtic ones. (((Was thinking and playing around with the same look,,, taking the bevel to a harder edge as well as messing with some other elements of design))). Oh,,, my 9 year old luvs your Graffiti filter. I went to comment on it and was suprised a thread had not already been started. That's such a fun filter! And my nine year old is picky (lol)... she wanted me to tell you she likes that one (your Graffiti Filter). Thanks for the heads up on the Celtic filter... fighting a headache today so moving slow... I should have another Celtic filter off to the library by the time I go to bed tonight. (((thanks jffe))) Dinner and movie break time for me... I'll be back when I have the Celtic one done,,, wish me luck~ P.S. Have you had a chance to play with Ub's stash in the User Gallery? ![]() "Strength does not come from winning.Your struggles develop your strength. ----I figured you'd update it sometime, just thought I'd mention some ideas while bumping a thread for the cool twisties ha-ha
----You'll see it right away, ya probably had some idea for it, and never got around to it, and just plugged it in somewhere. I know I've done that, or erased a fairly important module just cause it wasn't plugged in at the moment and I had forgotten what I was doing with it ha-ha.
----I'll take a look for/at it this weekend for sure.
----Oh, I've butchered a couple of them and erased the evil offspring already ha-ha. It just seemed like they were either barely started, or nearly done, and neither way helped me much as far as making them into something unique (although I didn't spend but an hour and a half messing with 3 or 4 of them, so maybe I'll go back to them some time). And no offense to Mr. Uber, but if I'm gonna open (other) people's filters up, I'd just as soon troubleshoot for them, find ways to speed it up or change it for the better if I can (without changing what it already is really). Just appeals to me more I guess. jffe Filter Forger |

So glad you like this one... I like this one too~
Well I can't speak for Steve, but I can tell you most times why I do 'series' filters. Mostly... "I can't make my mind up". You know how a filter is... several different looks coming to the surface when you create it. Right now this filter gives the look of arifacts dug out and cleaned off, before industrial and modern working of precious metals. Still thinking I might bevel the edges deeper like you've done here. Definately going to make a whole Celtic series though... personal interest of mine before I found filter forge. No way I could decide on just one Celtic filter~ Thank you so much for the tips~ Because I will use them, if not on this one then a second Celtic one. After I post this I'm working on a Celtic on in FF.
LOL
Appeals to me too~
There is a filter of mine that should hit the Library in the morning... 'Jean's Jewelry Chain', I know that one uses the same string of components you are referring to here. And I think you'll laugh if you look at it... I was seriously playing around with the curves on that one. I don't think I messed extrememly with the tone curve though... I'm going to give what you suggested a try... I like what you did. Oh,,, yea putting my real first name in filter names now... I copy Steve, LOL. I don't copy his filters, just everything else he does.
Which three or four? Do you remember? I'm messing with the Snowflake after I work some more on the Celtic ones. After that... who knows... maybe I'll close my eyes and point at the computer screen and see which one I land on. *chuckle* Pin the tail on the filter ... sorta thing... Well here I go... no excuses no stalling... going to mess with the Celtic one... hopefully I'll hit a groove and it will be in the library tomorrow... Hi jffe~
I updated it. Should hit the library this morning.
The blend,, ripped it... that was from Ub's snippet. I added the width in impulse. I had the invert in impulse going into the invert and a slider remapped and taking the blur down. These changes looked fine on the surface but when making variations it took the filter in a different direction. What ended up doing was pulling the 'invert', and kept the blur lower just took off the slider. The look is streamlined now. Also,,, what took the longest were the 20 presets. It's tighter and nicer now,,, (((ty))). I added a thank you on the filter description page and also a thank you in the updates section. ----It appears to be listed now, I'll grab it later or this weekend and scope the changes out.
----I really don't, one had like a spiral thing going on maybe, and maybe that SEXXX one I think, or maybe those are the same filter. I didn't pay much attention really, I was just kinda freestyling inside them to see what I could do really quick, and I mangled some stuff up, but it wasn't worth making a real filter out of. I'm sure I could make something decent out of his stuff if I took my time, but again, I'd rather just do my own thing, or help people speed their filters up, ya'll can have at Uber's collection.
----Yer welcome, just a couple of ideas, since you'd left that first one pretty wide open to add options. jffe Filter Forger |

A second one is coming~
That one caught my eye too... not the spiral... havn't looked at it up close yet. Boldest name for a filter I've seen.
Havin' a hoot in it~
Wait till you see the next one.. I tell ya,,, I think I've tried everything under the sun at this point with this particular string of components. And I'm not done thinking of things yet~
The changes leave the pattern in tact. On the next Celtic one I do play much more with it. The new one should hit the library tommorrow morning. ![]() "Strength does not come from winning.Your struggles develop your strength. ----Don't tempt us, although FF would probably edit any eXXXtremely named filters ha-ha
----Cool, I'll definitely take a look at it here soon. I'd jump on the celtic bandwagon, but I dunno much about their designs/looks, if I ever accidentally do one, it probably won't be called celtic, cause I won't even know ha-ha. jffe Filter Forger |

Well I do have a filter called 'Boxer Shorts',,, LOL... It needs an update too~
Oh when I wrote it would be in the Library tomorrow... I didn't realize it was Friday... tired on this end... sorry... Monday morning it should be in my filter list... not sure it will make the recent filter list on the front page because there are usually so many filters added to their que after Friday. Celtic art.. last year I researched it for a novel I'm working on. Was working on it till I found filter forge,, LOL... havn't been able to juggle my writing back in with my new found filter hobby. If you ever get a chance to check out some books at the Library ... there are some excellent books out on the subject. On my way to FF to work on filters,,, if I'm not back tonight I'll be back tomorow~ "Strength does not come from winning.Your struggles develop your strength. I just grabbed the updated Celtic Knots filter here. Quite a bit more variety now I see (from hitting random a few times), the only thing inside I see that I'd consider changing really offhand, is one Blend that's set at 100% and *normal*, which is doing nothing, as it's just showing 100% foreground, and 0% background, and thusly not blending at all on the *normal* setting. And I'd still consider adding a slider control for the Blur that goes to the Result-Height, rather than having it locked at 2. Maybe try a range of 1-3, just to give people a little tiny bit of extra roundness/smoothness control. Overall it looks pretty good though, the over/under metal twisties are sharp looking. jffe Filter Forger |

Thank you jffe~
I was up all night working on the three alpha updates and of course the new Celtic Art one. I made a mistake on 3 of the alphas... testing on an image not the life preserver. The alpha was .6 off, not noticable in the string, then grey at the end but barely. I never noticed it and sent them off to the library. I saw them loaded ... too grey. All of them are fixed now and obviously you missed it
((Now I said they were fixed.. but the updates for that fix have not yet loaded... the grey ones are in the library... new ones in the que... ))
I'll grab your notes and head back into this one today when I wake up. Tired. The transparency is a user request... so I emailed and told her the new lighter transparency ones were already on their way to the library. (((Hoping the new ones load today)). When I wake up I'll be going over all of them with a fine tooth comb. The alpha of course knocked all the presets off and each filter has 20 presets and each preset had to be reset by hand. It's 5:44 and I'm just getting to bed~ Nite~ P.S. The update for the lighter alpha just hit the library so .... alpha is fine now. New presets. I'll be working on it later today with your suggestions jffe,, thank you~ Jean "Strength does not come from winning.Your struggles develop your strength. Jean,
Very very nice! I had a filter named celtic knot that I was working on. It took forever to render so I set it aside thinking I would figure out how to make it work later. But after seeing this..... I DELETED IT! Compared to your filter it was lame. Congrats on a cool filter. David |

Oh David~ that's so sweet~ I must tell you... I feel your pain.. a celtic pattern... is a headache... LOL. True. Tough little bugger!!! If it makes you feel better I about pulled my hair out,,, and that was with using part of Ub's braid filter. If you want to make Celtic art.. grab Ub's braid filter in the user gallery. Then... grab mine to get the alpha (his doesn't have the alpha)... the alpha is 'very' tricky for this particular string. Normally alpha is not tricky.. this I know... but with this string... oh yea. LOL There is a second one that came out last night 'Celtic Art'... the alpha has been fixed and is sitting in a que to be loaded to the library. David if you want to do Celtic there are lots of names still open.. Celtic Designs... Celtic Patterns... ect... I highly reccomend Ub's Braid filter (User Gallery Forum, can't miss the thread... Ub's Filter Dump or something like that). (((Thank You David))) "Strength does not come from winning.Your struggles develop your strength.
