Crass Carnage, Kraellin!

Maybe you could add some round blood droplets as well for increased visual appeal. I'm thinking 'shark tank' like blobs of blood... Wink

Playing around with the internals, I found that slightly offsetting the blood splatters with the source image does improve the integration of the carnage... Big grin

This is one of the better gore filters yet ---Though the stretch didnt seem to quite act in the manner I expected I think the option for more pooling and directional streaking would really put this one over the top for instance if you could figure out a radiant stretch so that it looks like it hit from above and spread out this particular blood effect would look Awesome indeed.

Top notch work I really like this one

Got back to FF for about 5 min last night might release a few I touched up tommorow Ive got about 15 ready for release but have needed a break from FF for awhile

onnetz, thanks for posting this Smile

hehehe, foxxee Smile i like that response Big grin

and ahimsa, good! that's what it's supposed to do Smile

and thanks, dilla Smile i had a look this morning at what you did. no time to post then, but can now. interesting move. you basically bulked it up. clever! hadnt even thought of using an offset in there. so, i took that idea and re-worked the other leg too, the transparent leg. it's now bulked up too. i like it. it adds more depth and brings out some of the highlight leg better as well.

i actually had tried to bring out the hightlights more and was fairly satisfied with the depth... for blood. but your way does work better. so, i'll change it. and again, very clever use of the offset. would have never thought to hook up the image component with the offset controls.

what i'll do is update the filter and leave a copy of the original in there if anyone wants to use the original. it wont be hooked up, but shldnt be that hard to figure out how to do. that way, folks can update with confidence of not losing the original if they liked that more.

thanks, rawn Smile well, if you're working, just go out and buy the damn thing! or just buy the basic or standard version until your filters hit HU.

volde, yes, probably a lot more could be done here. and certainly open to ideas of how to do it, such as dilla's contributions. basically, all i wanted for this first go was a shotgun splatter on a mostly flat surface, but not a wall. as ahimsa said, a crime scene. not only what you mentioned but also drips would be cool, as on a wall. i also thought of adding a few chunks of meat to the mix, but decided against it for now. i did manage to add a little depth and depth blending, but that's as far as i got. dilla's contribution will help with that as well. heck, you could throw an arm or leg or organ in there too if you really wanted Wink i know there's some real gore game freaks out there, so the more the merrier Smile maybe an eyeball Big grin

thanks, carl; on both counts Smile

BTW, it's nice to have you back... when you have time I have requested some tips on one of my filters but got no replies yet (hint hint) on the "Stone Engraver" Wink

Just curious... but... what's with all you guys???
I don't think I've seen so many of you congregate to one place all at the same time as I have watching you all come pouring out of the woodwork just because someone makes a gory, bloody filter. Big grin

it's mostly a male thing, foxxee. standing atop a pile of bloodied and gored enemies in victory is partially an old survival instinct thing. not very flowery, i'm afraid and certainly not an ideal, but it has been tied into survival quite a bit over history.

and, the other part i'm aware of is just the pure shock value of creating such an effect. we (male and female) tend to like attention and will sometimes go to whatever lengths it takes, even when that attention is more or less of a negative sort. hollywood calls this gratuitous violence or in the case of sex, gratuitous sex. it's just there for the attention value rather than any real story value.

Ok, understand, and appreciate your explanation, Craig.
Yeah, I'd rather not see you guys lift your pant legs and go running off screaming at the top of your lungs anyway, hehe.

But this is as gory as I can handle...

and thanks, steve Smile

ok, i just submitted the update. dilla's suggestions worked out well. i also took those suggestions and applied them to the texture leg as well (dilla just did the image leg). and i changed 'blood stretch' to 'blood thinner' based on volde's comment. it's not entirely accurate, but certainly better than what i had.

oh, and i did leave a copy of the original within the editor in case anyone preferred that version and wants that back but still downloads the update.

ok, like i said, i submitted the update, but i've been playing around with it since and found a flaw with dilla's method when used with the transparent part. the height leg picks up and transfers the overlain blood on the life preserver AND part of the life preserver through the height leg. dont want that. so, i've modded it again and will update when the new update comes through.

i've also added an 'invert blood height' control and offset controls for positioning the blood more where you might want it. and i also added a 'height sensitivity' control and a 'blur blood' control.

i could also add a frame and offset to allow for smaller and more controlled splatter patterns rather than having them splatter globally across the field, if anyone wants that.
