Oh man, SWEET! That is original and fun. I hope some people actually use it for their forum avatars and the like, and that it's not just a pretty-stoned face. What is this? Seems like I just have to come up with a TOTALLY useless idea, for it to make an Editor's Pick??? There are some things in this world I'll just never be able to understand.
Okay, so whose gonna make the first Bart Simpson imitation...? I'm sure anyone who has dug into the guts of this monster understands why I didn't start adding different hair styles, glasses, mustache... And, I agree, they sure do look pretty damn stoned. Even the smiling ones. (Oh no, I just came up with another idea! I better go do something else now.) |

Seriously now, your filter here is not as useless as you think: it demonstrates that you can do the wildest stuff within FF. Marketing, marketing! I'd wager that is also the reason for your 'Furry mascot' and my 'Grin Inc.' having been awarded Editor's Picks.

I have to admit it, it is fun to do filters that fall under the category of "why the heck would anyone ever...?" No, it is actually way worse -- now I'm gonna admit how all the trouble started -- I wasn't even interested in FF particularly, I just happened on the site while looking for something else, then I saw "swiss cheese," "fried egg," and I go "Huh? Why wouldn't you just take a photo of the damn thing? What is this? Do you mean that someone built a SWISS CHEESE with a FILTER? No, couldn't be -- let me see that..." And the rest you can guess. And: Yes! Got my 8th HU a couple of weeks back. (And almost all from filters I didn't expect to ever make it -- go figure.) (Hmm, I wonder if there are special secret prizes for higher counts...? I guess the usual thing is to give the extras to your friends?) TD |

actually, 3d, you may have hit upon an area that is far more lucrative than anyone, except maybe vlad, has twigged on yet. i'll just let your imaginations brew on that statement for a bit.

Indeed. Those are my absolute favorites!
Hehe. I would, if I needed a photo of the damn thing! The way I see it, it's really about the artistic and technical challenge of recreating these things in a realistic way. Most of the time I'm quite pleased with the results, and I go "Hmmm.. not too bad for a homemade!" --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid Mac beta!" |
