Oh sweet! The default and variation 2 are fantastic.
The only improvement I'd like to see would be a more predictable randomization... maybe the remapping needs to be tightened a little?   --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid Mac version!" |

Yeah, I actually tried this, but then it also seemed to limit some of the more extreme variations (which doesn't really look like bamboo but still cool). So I tried setting the randomization level a bit lower (in the randomization options dialog), which I found sufficient. |

Just rendered this in blender and you may want to consider softenning the joints on the normal. They buldge out quite a bit, but man still looks amazing! Do a good turn daily.

This one is awesome, I did'nt know that something like this was possible. Wow! at least 90 percent of all sensation is texture, even beyond the visual, with elements of noise, tone, gradients, interval and degree.
