Also usefull for making Frames smile:-) I used Mess Painter for this example.

To do something like that, draw an Outline where you want the vines to grow in your mask, use Grow Mode one with Edge Amplitude and Radius set very low.

WOW !! This is really a wonderful, amazing and really very well done filter with great realism (well designed leaves, branches, tendrils and shadows) and many options to customize it in different ways and good to have all those controls and also like very much that you can use a custom mask to make your own design or also to use the image edges to make it follow that edges.

I also give my thanks to ThreeDees Smudge Shadows that in this filter works very well and helps to give more realism.

And also is very good that you can make frames or designs like this one you have made very well here shown here above

Image

And you can use it for other beautiful and lovely compositions and designs like the one you have done with Ghislaine´s eclipse that I like much too.

And also well done are the other examples you have done and good idea also to mix them with other filters.

The only possible negative thing I can possibly find is that it is a bit slow, but this is not something you have done badly, is a problem of Filter Forge itself. Although perhaps someone else expert could help to optimize it if it would be possible.

To show my love for this I put this example I have done

Although AFTER looking at how the filter is built in the filter editor I understand much better why it needs to take some time to make this amazing and beautiful Ivy texture as you have made a great and very complex work to be able to build this and now I congratulate you even more for making this filter as it shows your great knowledge and experience in Filter Forging

I doubt that it could be any faster and still be so realistic looking, tho, on the other hand, filter forge can be awfully funny about these things and sometimes.

Tho, for this level of realism, a bit of slowness has to be tolerated.

Custom leaves make this an epic win. I gunna makes me some variegated ivy! wooo!!
Release the Mongoose!

Nice example Gigi, good to see you are having fun with this smile:-)

About the speed - yes it´s a bit slow. Shadows and the edge finder both slow it down when checked. Apart from that it´s using 3 bombers which also seem to slow it down a lot. I always try to avoid using Blur, but I had to in this filter. Maybe I find better ways to do things and speed it up a bit in the future. I´m sure there is stuff that could be improved or handled more efficiently.

Lol true. Sometimes changing one small thing which you would never have suspected can give a huge speed boost.

Haha cool! smile:D I was planning on including variegated ivy. I also want to add roses and vine in a future update.
I think I will also add at least one more control for custom leaf images.

Adding a third custom leaf type which a much lower chance than the others would be good for adding flowers or dead leaves.
Release the Mongoose!
