StevieJ I love all your filters, however, and I say this alot; this really is my favorite one. I just hit the random but and it gets a good looking picture everytime. If no one else uses this filter; which is unlikly, it will go HU from me alone! Nicely done. Here is just one more picture, and I show it to prove a point. I clicked the random button alot and this is the worse picture I could get, and it still is awesome! |

umm, not my cup of tea. the inverted, high color curves types just dont appeal to me that much (though you do have some notable exceptions in other filters). i like certain aspects of a few of these pics, usually on the vase, but it's just too 'busy', a little 'dirty' and tries to overpower without the aesthetic value. it's like a used car salesman shouting at you, 'BUY THIS!'. sorry, i dont normally like to make comments like this, but you just had to ask the rimming light effect is kind of interesting, and some of the surfaces on the vase, and even a flower or two, but overall, it doesnt quite do it for me. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

hey, if butt-kissing will get us version 2 faster, then i'm in line right behind you, though, not to kiss YOUR butt
steve, art is such an apples, oranges sort of thing, that i rarely do 'critiques' any more. i have a 'good eye' for me, but not necessarily for anyone else. so, normally, i just comment on the stuff or aspects of something that i do like. but you just had to ask, didnt you yeah, the 'used car salesman' was a bit over the edge, perhaps, but it somewhat conveyed what i meant
and you know i love a lot of your stuff, so i wasnt too worried you'd get all hurt. though, when you didnt post anything in this thread for a bit, i was beginning to get worried If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

yeah, i do understand the value of an honest critique. some of the best help i ever got in retouching and photo art was from a woman who just said what she saw, but was also talented enough to give direction as well. i have the 'eye' but not always the direction If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
