i like the machining marks and the scratches, but i dont quite understand the multiple vertical ripples if it's 'gun barrel'. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

the ripples are there cause this would "wrap around" the barrel when using it as a texture in-game right?

uhm, ok, but dont most 3d programs use their own lighting these days? so, why would you need to shadow a texture like this? If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

In-game specular highlights sometimes leave something to be desired. While the full render (with the rounded bumpmaps) probably isn't beneficial to anyone, I don't really feel like updating just to remove something that people can get by rendering only the diffuse map. The scratches are fake yes, I might try and do another version later that actually puts depth into the scratches at a later time. | |
