Hi byRô,
I worked for weeks trying to do this on my own. I knew this filter was here, I found it before I started, but I was determined not to look inside until I had worked it out on my own. I finally gave up, somewhere around arctangent, and opened this to see how you did it. I was stunned to find that you did it with blend modes not curves. So something I have been wondering about for a long time. How did you figure out that the color dodge/burn blend modes would do this?
Btw, thanks; it helped on many of my filters directly and I learned a lot by trying to do it myself.

byRo is pretty much a math and graphics genius. you can see more of his stuff over on retouchpro.com. i believe he's currently migrated to 3d work and is producing some pretty amazing retouching techniques based on 3d work. he's one of the earliest beta testers for FF as well.

If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

they won't let me in at retouchpro - they say my Google email address is not valid and that I need to get a real one. Call me stubborn but I'm not going to set up and manage a pop account at this point - IMHO that would be moving backwards.
Ok, I admit it, I'm stubborn - why else would I spend three weeks failing to make a polar converter. smile:D

yeah, google, yahoo, hotmail... there is a very good reason for this. it has to do with spammers, trolls, and such. anonymous mail addresses tend to bring in those that really want and need anonymity due to what they do. so, by simply not allowing those you weed out 90% of the troublemakers on the net.
