I have tried to use the Background to add a photo texture but I think that there is a problem, or I am using it wrongly, as you must use a very dark one because others get a very undesired bad result.
On this one works but on most others don´t  |

Could I suggest you that you activate as "Allowed images" the 2 color controls?
I think that this could be useful and interesting and add a whole new way to make colorful spirographs Of course this is up to you and you decide if you want to do it or not. Here is one example  |

Spaceray, when you load a background, you must put the offset V and H at zero.

Sorry, but there is no offset V and H, perhaps you mean the offset X and Y. If you see in the examples I have put, these are already at zero value and it does not work for me, will have to try again and make some more tests.
Great and glad that you like my suggestion and idea and you will allow to put images for the colors. This is optional so you can choose to use plain colors or images. |

Yes, offset X,Y. But we have to put the offset Y at 1 if we want center the spiro. As I said, the spiro design creates some squares on the background. The spiro filters are made to use on alpha bg, then you transfert your png on your bg that you want (this for a bg without alteration).
About the upload of the filter, I tried few times without success. I will try again. Ghislaine |

Thanks for the update that is already available.
I have tried again to use a background that gets nicely modified by the filter, BUT it does not always work. Here is one example where the background looks well, although the spirogram looks faded and too transparent. I think that this happens because you are using the lighten blend mode.  |

But on this one the effect is worse and really can´t be seen well, and I think and perhaps this happens because the background also goes through the lighten blend mode and it is "multiplied" with the spirogram it also gets lighten toghether.
Perhaps it would need an alpha mask to protect the background and go through the filter to get that nice look you have done, but do not get affected by the lighten blend mode.  |

Also you can´t use a background that have light colors because the spirogram gets nearly ghostly transparent. You need to choose a background that have dark colors so you can see better the spirogram

And must be careful that the background does not have any white inside as this will be bad if used here as it will be blown out and when passed through the filter. |

I like the idea that the background goes also through the filter and get that good effect of multiplying it into a tunnel like BUT it seems it does not work well, and think that perhaps the problem comes from the "lighten" blend mode applied also to the background, although I could be wrong.
Also you could add the background at the end so it does not get distorted,but this is not the point here, as I said I like that the background gets modified in that way. |

I'll check for the blend mode, maybe a screen mode can be better without destroying things.
Putting the bg to the end will got give an effet on the bg. If a way exist to add another bg to the end and also keep the other one... I'll check all this today. Ghislaine |
