I dunno if this is a option already ..i cant play with FF2b right now.
But is it possible to make a option in FF2 to set the output of the Filter to a new layer above the selected one, like many other Pshop filters have..
That wil in my view be a great thing..

Is it really that hard to duplicate the layer and run the filter on the duplicate?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding your suggestion, but it really wouldn't be that much of a timesaver. |

Well AlienSkin filter have the option: Create Output in a new layer above current
That make it realy realy easy to make layers from the same filter with diffrent setting in one simple go ..
One new duplicate is not difficult to make, but it sometimes is damn handy to have this inside the plugin/filter
I use it alot .. |

Ah, I get it now. Sorry, I've never actually used FF in my copy of Photoshop, so I don't know what it's like. |

Chris is right. Many plugins have this behavior, at least all the major players that is, and there is nothing worse than forgetting to make the Copy and then having to go back and rerender all over again. Rick Insane Diego... |

Yes, this is a good suggestion, however, it's impossible to implement given the fact that we use a very old Photoshop SDK, which doesn't offer the ability to access layers.
We would be happy to switch to a newer SDK, but last I checked it had a scary, draconian license which we definitely don't want to be bound by. I that think at some point we'll have to discuss this with Adobe -- the old SDK won't allow us to build a 64-bit Photoshop plugin, so we'll have to switch to the new SDK anyway. |

Well im happy you like my idea..
And dont you love BIG companys... with all the world domination rules they invent ..
I sure hope you get a good deal with Adobe.. the FF plugin is just a amazing tool to have and use..
But dont stirr up the water to much ..before we know it ..FF is owned by Adobe
And we all know that THAT does not make thing better lol ..

That agreement, most likely, is a relic of pre-merger Adobe-Macromedia wars. I hope it lost its relevancy long ago. |
