What happened to Carl's Romancing the Gorilla Filter? That's one of my all time favorite filters!

And why did some of my filters disappear when I upgraded the software?

Disappointed.

I have just made a search for Carl's Romancing the Gorilla Filter in the FF library and is true that is NOT there and has been removed smile:?:

As far as I know this only happens when the author decides himself to ask FF Inc. to take it out from the library.

So I do not know why Carl has decided to remove it.

So when the filter is removed, it is also removed from all the lists of any Filter Forge software, because you can´t have a filter in the list that is not in the FF online Library.

BUT it is NOT deleted, it is just moved to the "my filter" folder of your filter list.

Another way of keeping it safe and secure is to have a backup of all your downloaded filters

It is getting redesigned, after I received numerous email complaints about it and including one on FF's FB page. After X-Ray's redesign where it excluded the original look or the drastic changes to Film Noir, I thought it would be better to resubmit a fresh version of Gorrilla where no one can complain that it's lost this or that. The good news the new version will be faster, more user friendly and believe it or not with more choices, and very close to the look of the old one. Hopefully every one will be happy then smile:)

Thanks for making a redesign of it and that it will be better than the previous one

This is for sure one of the many selected jewels available in the FF library and like it much and have such beautiful and awesome artistic results.

USING OLD VERSION UNTIL RELEASE OF THE NEW

Anyone that STILL wants to use the old version will be able to do it if you have already downloaded it before, as it has been transfered to the "my filters" folder.

Hi Carl,

sorry for asking you twice : at FB and via mail, but the "Gorilla" is one of my favourite filters and i was so upset to see you removed it smile:D

Carl, as you have not been able to make the redesign of your awesome and excellent filter in the last six months:

Would you allow for the release of the old filter here in the forum, for others that want to use it and can´t wait until the next version comes out whenever you make it?

I have it, but I do not want to put it here without you allowing it.

ORIGINAL THREAD HAS NOT BEEN DELETED

When this filter appeared it has it´s own thread and happily after the removal, the original thread has remained in the forum so you can see it

Their is a fatal error that can occur under random renderings, that was why after several complaints it was removed from circulation. I would not want the defective gorrilla on the loose, please don't post it.

Thank You, Carl! I'm new to Filter Forge and have heard that Romancing The Gorilla is one of the very best filters. You can't imagine how disappointed I was to find that it was no longer available!

How is it going the romancing ? Has the Gorilla got already romanced or there is still work to do? smile;)

I am not needing it urgent at all (I already have the original and like it as it is), and does not matter if it will take more time, I am just curious to know how it is going, and do not want to hurry you up in any way.

What happens with the great and awesome Romancing the Gorilla filter?

I that if you do not have time to make it better, or any other reason, would be good for newer owners that has not been able to download this wonderful filter, that you could submit it again as it is, and then after make the upgrade when you have it ready.

I fortunately have downloaded it in time and can use it.
