Hi, I've noticed that when I call filter forge 3 fr om cs5 a red t-shirt changes to an orange color when I see the image opened in the filter forge. I've looked at the original image in FF i.e. there's not filter affecting the image and this effect is present. I have my monitor calibrated and the colours appear to be correct in Lightroom and Photoshop.
Given I want to make fine adjustments to the image, not being able to see the realistic color is a bit lim iting. Is there anything anybody can suggest to get the image to appear as it shows in CS5?
Thanks,
Bertie |

hmmm...Have you checked the image space in Photoshop...Perhaps that is in CMYK then when its loaded into FF it defaults to RGB thus causing the different colors... Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

Thanks for the tip. The image space in photoshop is ProPhotoRGB. This is the recommended in Lightroom as the best quality when exporting to Photoshop for editing. I've tried changing the colour to sRGB and the image in filterforge looks closer than before when compared to viewing it in Photoshop but there is still a slight shift in colour. |

hmmm...The other suggestion that I have is changing the Gamma option in FF....When in FF go to the "Tools" menu then "Options" then you click the "Gamma" tab.....Choose the Gamma Correction Disabled....Then restart FF....Don't know if the restart is needed but you never know......
This could be a reason for the slight shift in color...Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

bertie, did you figure out what the problem was? I'd like to know, because I have the same exact same problem (I use CS6 instead CS5, but also work in ProPhotoRGB). Converting sRGB seems to help a bit, turning of Gamma Correction, seems to be a bad idea ... |

I found that I just convert the color space to sRGB and it works fine. I know FF only supports sRGB. I guess if people used other color spaces it would break the presets for a start. It's a shame to do this but this was the only solution I found. |
