i was playing with the plugin 'Harry's Filters', a very good combo filter. i hadnt fooled with this in a while but noticed again that this filter has a 'play' button and a 'jump' button. both are used for automatically jumping to other control settings. this is quite handy.
so, naturally i thought of FF and using those features here. the 'jump' button is roughly the same thing as 'next variation' in FF, but the play button takes this one step further. with it you simply hold this button down and it's like animating the 'jump' button. the preview window simply keeps changing to new control settings for as long as you hold this button down.
now, FF probably cant use this with the current interface and current somewhat slow renderings at times. but perhaps with a smaller preview that scaled things down or some other approximation trick it could. the harry's filter play is quite fast, sequencing a new set of settings about once per second or so. so, again, not real sure this is even remotely feasible in FF.
nonetheless, if it could be done, it would be useful. very low priority though if it can even be done.

I'm not sure I understand what this feature does. If it just animates a filter control (like a slider), you can already do this in FF -- just select a slider knob with a mouse click and then press (or hold) the arrow keys on the keyboard. |

vlad, basically, it would be like holding down the 'next variation' you currently have and it would just continuously cycle through new variations. that's all. it's not a big item or deal. just thought it would be a bit interesting if FF could do that. and it's not like you cant just already hit 'next variation' and have it start anew anyways. so, no big deal
