Now that it is the 100 anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, I wonder if Filter Forge will also sink in the future because it will crash against the icebergs made by the competition.
I mean that FF Inc. has confirmed that Filter Forge will NOT have any kind of GPU acceleration and there is no news that in a future version they will optimize or make a faster and better render engine that could process the components faster that would be a good alternative to the GPU or hardware acceleration.
I have seen in this 2012 that there are many news that mostly all the important software companies that are making filters and plugins for Photoshop are competing in speed and making the best efforts to offer the best speed they can, and some have already added GPU support and other have choosen to make a much better optimized code to make the software better and render faster.
So what will happen by the end of this year when mostly all the companies will have shiny new greatly optimized versions of their softwares and Filter Forge will keep having the same snail slow software ?
I WANT THAT FF KEEPS UP AND DOES NOT SINK AGAINST COMPETITION
I do not want at all that FF could sink and be left out and behind because the developers does not want or can´t make a faster software.
This is an excellent, awesome, very useful and easy to use software that offers LOTS of possibilities and opens a wide door to creators, with thousands of filters available and also of course the feature of creating your own filters with a very good node based filter editor.
The Titanic sunk mostly because they built it in a bad way in the first place, and this was the main problem. FF was also built around a render engine and memory system that was good in the beginning but now they see that it can´t be upgraded and bring it to the future with the new technologies.
Please, do not let FF sink against the competition that will go over FF Inc. like a tsunami.

Here is the titanic lifesaver
He may be thinking, will FF Inc. have the same fate if not make a faster rendering FF?
