LOL If he reads the thread I did put the thank you image in... that's from all of us... he's propably too busy to post with school coming and all. I've been meaning to come back here and post another sample... I made two filters (Gold Chain and Celtic Knots) using parts of Ub's 'Braid Filter'... can't miss it in the file dump. http://www.filterforge.com/filters/4044.html Gold Chain http://www.filterforge.com/filters/4041.html Celtic Knots The funny thing about the two filters is that you would think I made Gold Chain first then Celtic Knots... was actually the other way around. After I made Celtic Knots I figured I should make just the chain... making a second series filter for the chain today. Also making at least two maybe three more Celtic filters... It's such an honor to work with Ub's filters or snippets from them. Have to admit there is a weight of responsability when using them... It's one thing if I mess up on my own, it's another thing if I mess up and Ub's filter is on board,, ya know?  "Strength does not come from winning.Your struggles develop your strength. I also have been play around with Ub's 'Braid Filter'. I made grids with them , and I had alot of fun with them.

Ironical, alot of the dearly departed uderezev, [sadly missed for his intelligence, a huge loss], are quality filters needing nothing more than a slider or 2, some of them needing nothing, I also have voltured, as I say ironicly the braid filter, my interpretation was working towards rope, to be conplete frank, I have mixed feelings about persuing it, applease my conscience some one say something nice, attaching unfinished filter sample pic, or say don't bother it been covered   |

I can only guess he put them here because he was not going to use them and couldn't bear to see them go to waste. My thinking is that the best way to honor him is to do the best you can with them. (((A big responsability when using them,,, that's the way I feel about it,,,))). I like the rope direction for braid,,, I think it honors Ub~ However your braid is looking a little like wood, and something you can propably tweak and work with. I luvs the braid though... and I like the direction you are taking the filters... feels like a natural direction to take it. It's good thinking~ JMO
I feel bad Ub can't be here too... I think we all do. He has school starting... If Ub did not want them used he would not have put them here... just a guess on my part. What surprises me is that those brand new to making filters havn't hit this stash of filters...  Hopefully Ub is watching this thread from time to time and likes what we are making... There is another Celtic one coming out on Monday... also Nob Hill uses a string from Braid... that will also be updated I hope on Monday to include the mention... sorry about that Ub,, was just a mistake from being tired on this end... all the other filters do have a mention and big thanks or kudos on them ,,, can't apologize enough for the mistake... I noticed after it had already been loaded... then wanted to wait a few days hoping to downplay my phoopha... but I knew the mistake would bit me in the butt, LOL... (((getting the credit in a.s.a.p. on that one... all other credits are in,, promise ... really appreciate the use of the filters (((((((((((you are the best))))))))))))))) P.S. btw, i do like all five of these, CF. that first reminds me of a clay plate, while a number of the others remind of hubcaps. and that last one almost has a weave quality about it. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

That is pretty interesting, the texture of the weave. I dunno if it's "realistic" (never studied a rope up close ha-ha), but it sure does look pretty cool at the very least.

thanks for comments there is so many different ropes - this is a simple filter [ to try and keep the speed up ] but wasn't sure whether it should be a surface filter it would slow it down considerable |
