I wonder if I could make a full-blown landscape filter "V2" out of the filter shown above. I do like my old one, but it is not as easy to work with, especially if I wanted a surface filter.

You're welcome Betis.  That first pic especially drew my attention. While my nebula filter looks pretty flat, yours appears to have depth, like real celestial bodies. And never give up because its slow.

Thanks. The bed is the same as before. On the contrary, I think the water surface is an improvement from last time, and I happen to like it just as well if not better underwater than from a seascape view.

That's the point Craig. I already have more realistic generic paint filters, so I wanted to do something more themed and abstract. But I'll see what I can do.
I know, I know, the FF team shuns making seamless textures out of photographs, and there are better programs out there for this, but if you're going to buy FF, why not get this capability as well? Seamless grass texture generated in FF from a photo (cropped in PS to make it square).  It's not perfect but it's getting there. No one likes the seamless photograph tiler...
Maybe this'll be more useful for the FF community. It's an effect filter that simulates a drawing done with various gray markers and a sharpie. the seamless one chops the original up too much, indigo. it wouldnt really work for most real-world photos, i dont think.
but, this last one is very good! i like it If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

oh, that's a good one, too. the only problem with it on the flag is that you need to make some child-like stars instead of eating up the ones that were there i do like that you have a number of angles on your brush strokes. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Thanks to the both of you. The angles are hue-based. And the stars are supposed to look like that. Have you ever tried drawing geometric shapes with a white crayon on white paper?
Yet another paint filter (I have about 10 or so different ones now I think). This one rotates the brush using a mod of Mike's "This Way" filter, the one with all the crazy arrows, which I must say has amazing potential as a snippet. BTW, I'm not one to horde filters because of fear of re-sellers, I just take a while with sliders and optimization before I eventually submit them. I don't submit anything to FF anymore because I want to make money off of my unique filter creations....and my work wouldn't be so unique and sell if everyone had the ability to replicate it.... Steve

Look at this motherf***er. I want to make a full-fledged landscape with this, but I'm encountering a major problem.
Only a 200 x 200 render with 5 sample AA and NO height map. 8 minutes and 58 seconds (translates to about 5min if you have a nice PC). My slowest filter by about 300% I think. Looks awesome at higher resolutions, but I just can't show you that. Also, there is a check-box that is off for this example. It blurs the trees and adds a drop shadow. Ok, I fixed up the birds-eye view one. Replaced a bomber with chaffs, and the speed went up tremendously. Now a 600x600 image with an AA of 5 (standard) takes just under 4 minutes. You can see the little flowers now! "Time flies like an arrow; Fruit flies like a banana." -Groucho Marx |
