Great example pics, you can clearly see your filter at work. "Time flies like an arrow; Fruit flies like a banana." -Groucho Marx |

| Gene S Morgan | Lipebianc ... Perfect HDR ... The abilty to selectivly apply the effect makes it so great. You can keep the sky and bring out the city ... I really like it a lot ... What I'm not so excited about is that road up the mountain ... Do people really drive up there? I'm getting sick to my stomach just looking at it ... A bit to real ... Afraid of heights .... | |||

WOW!! This is really very well done, very interesting and useful and can get really amazing results and make the dark parts much lighter and nicer in a very good way.
Excellent This is like shadows and highlights on steroids and much better with your version. Thanks very much for this |

Gene! That's the rear part of the highest mountain in my city (Corcovado)... The statue on top is a very famous touristic landmark (Christ the Redeemer), so is visited all the time. You can get there by car, train or even by foot (!!!)
I've been there only once (sadly), but you have a fantastic view of the entire city. You can do a 360º visit here: http://odia.ig.com.br/Gigafotos/crist...index.html "From the moment we are born, we start being filtered..." |

A polarizer (sort of) effect on the sky can be also possible:

Do you live in Rio de Janeiro ?
This is a very beautiful and interesting city, I have never been there but I have seen videos and photos of it, and also it is very important. And in 2016 will host the Olympic games, so it will be even much more known. |

Yep, Rio is one of those places you just know you have to visit some day. My mom and my inlaws were there last year, and took so many great photos! |

it really shines for making the most of the source photo and making it POP!
It recovers and optimizes much of the shadows in a good way |

And very good and useful is to be able to define the graduation and zones that you want it to be applied, and very well though to use the easy Curves selection for this and also that if you want to make that the effect covers the full image you ONLY have to select the curve editor and put both start and end at the top and that´s all.
Also like the way it uses to make the beautiful Black and White version |

Amazing examples, SpaceRay!! Yes, I live in Rio de Janeiro(most of my life). A beautiful city...and full of problems like many others...! Summer here can sometimes be really hot, so I prefer winter "From the moment we are born, we start being filtered..." |
