I had just an idea looking for something else in the forum, and perhaps is something silly but I thought that perhaps as Filter Forge is limited in itself by how it has been built and how it works I thought that probably it could be built another different software that could process the data of Filter Forge and render the result outside of the main core of Filter Forge.
I mean it would be in the same way as it happens with the 3D software that you have the main core software and then after finishing what you have done, you can render the result inside the render engine of the software OR you can choose to export the data and render the final result in another different external render engine that can understand this data.
So, in this case it would be an external software that could take a preset of a filter and be able to render it with it´s own technology and programming software and so it would not have the limits of Filter Forge own render engine.
I really do not know if this would be possible and a good idea.

|In theory, why not? The ffxml flter format is open for parsing and interpretation. So, you can hire a development team, and after several man-years of programming and several hundred thousand lines of code you will have the engine that you wouldn't call slow|

And don't forget that all these 3rd party renderers cost mucho dinero.
Take indigo renderer for example, it costs €595. Would you wanna pay for a renderer about 4.5 times what you pay for FF itself?
And don't forget that everybody who already own FF only have to pay for an upgrade, so for them FF is even cheaper. And Indigo renderer is ont the most expensive renderer either!
So like GMM said, it's possible, but most unprobable.
