WOW!! I can“t believe that there is ANOTHER excellent, amazing and awesome filter from you that I have also fallen in love is available in the same day as your other state-of-art Droplets
Too much emotion in the same day, I will make some examples later If I have said how much I love the Droplets filter, is not half of how much I love THIS filter. :ff
I like very much the innovation and original idea of making the wonderful 3D shapes in such well done way AND love also to learn more on how you build filters and see how this is done and that think that this has even a higher potential and be made more interesting things from this. |

Sorry to ask what seems to be something probably basic, but How can I use the diffuse channel? Where is and can I see the diffuse channel ? Thanks |

Actually here's a tip: taking filters apart is sometimes helpful, but you have to really put it in context and sometimes authors do really weird things that even I don't understand without studying the work in detail. Some authors know math very well so they'll do work that tends to have lots of mathy-inputs. This makes "taking apart" a filter hard because even if you pick out the core of a filter, it wouldn't be obvious how some elements work without the prior math/programming knowledge. What ultimately helps is to just start from scratch and try mimicking a specific texture or look using what you know. In many cases this can lead to decent filters since you'd focus on what the texture looks like rather than on the technicalities. You do "clean up" after you're done getting the look you want. Now that's wh ere you figure which components aren't needed for part of the effect. In many cases you can clean up or combine or reuse components for multiple elements which helps to reduce render times. (This of course is the hard part as well.) Having a goal is always helpful. Make sure you have references to look at as you build something. Lastly, think "procedural" not manual. FilterForge was built to handle both methods but it's a procedural program after all. This is why we have to clean and optimize the filter so it always works in our favor and gives us best results while providing the fastest renders. |

Thanks very much for the answer.
I agree that the best is too take a filter and see how is done and try to learn what the components do and how they are combined and also is very good to ask: what would happen if I do this, or if connect this here, or if I move or take out this. For the cleanup, I still have to learn more, as I really do not know much how to optimize and what would be really needed or what can be made better in another possible way that could give the same result but in a better way. |

Here are some more examples of this great and very well done 3D shapes effect that I like very much |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 4:13 pm | ||||

And here is in the same in bigger size in closer detail |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 4:15 pm | ||||

Another great result |

Different color shading and with less textured overlay |

SpaceRay
This looks like small waterfalls in a square mountain |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 4:22 pm | ||||
SpaceRay
Now lets change the orientation as this is MUCH more than just simple cubed and square mountains and can make also many more beautiful and wonderful 3D textures and also with some glow and foggy effect |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 4:25 pm | ||||
SpaceRay
And bigger and clear with only red shadings |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 4:27 pm | ||||
SpaceRay
And this with seamless tiling activated |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 4:29 pm | ||||
SpaceRay
and with 3 main colors.
Like the glow and shading on the peak of the cubes and the beautiful gradient shading |

And what would happen with a Lion Head ? Well here it is, I dare you to identify the lion in this one here Well you can see only the nose slightly |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 4:47 pm | ||||
SpaceRay
If activate the "more dense" checkbox you will see a little more, at least now the eyes appear |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 4:49 pm | ||||
SpaceRay
Weel now reducing the "size pixels" setting you will be able to see the lion much better |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 4:50 pm | ||||
SpaceRay
And here is bigger size close up of the above to see how it really looks and how the lion head is really cubed very well.
Here I have put an blue arrow to show the lion eye that is on the top left |

And here one peeling paint and scratched red and white wall converted wonderfully and beautifully by this great filter |

And this is the same as above but closer to see better the texture and great creation of this filter |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 5:09 pm | ||||
SpaceRay
And using preset 2 got this great and lovely texture |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 5:16 pm | ||||
SpaceRay
Another one example with Preset 2 and now seamless |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 5:24 pm | ||||
SpaceRay
And using preset 2 with others multicolors shadings |
| Posted: July 21, 2012 5:26 pm | ||||
SpaceRay
And this is a selection from the presets of the filter available
And you can of course use another different source image and get a different design but around this style |

I agree with you Morgantao, this is very unique... and special, original, innovative and awesome.
Here is a frame I have made |

And this is the same as above BUT I have inverted all the colors in Photoshop and then replaced the frame color for blue and I got this other different version |

And here is one made with a feathered selection in photoshop as this filter is not prepared and does not work with alpha channel masks |

I asked above to have the feature of masking and you said you would do it in the next upgrade.
Well, I will not have to wait until you make it, Because I have found the way to do it myself Here you have the FF Lifesaver with transparency and using the easy masking way I have found for this filter and using preset 1 |

Here is the FF Lifesaver using transparency and the masking with Preset 2 that gives those very beautiful patterns that I love much |

Not hard yeh? Wait until you see the next version. It's got that feature but does even more than you wished for. It'll take a while before I upload it.
Feel free to post versions in the forums for others to enjoy. |
