Difference Clouds
Hi.
Does anyone know "The formula" for Difference Clouds?
I can plug two Variations of Perlin Noise into a blend Component and set the mode to difference but it does not look quite the same as PS version. Am I on the right track or is there a better way?
Thanks.
Ken.

You have the formula correct. The differences you see may be due to the bit-depth limitations in Photoshop. |

Hi Zev.
Thanks.
I seemed to be lacking contrast (easily fixed) but I just wanted to make sure that I was using the correct "formula"
Thanks Again
Ken.

Most likely, the difference is due to the settings of the Perlin noise. Photoshop also uses Perlin for difference clouds, so all you have to do is to tweak the parameters of Perlin Noise in FF to match more closely. |
