I have written some code to update old components to the newest versions
Are updated to the latest Blend
I intended this to also update the old Min and Max but the problem here is that the old Min and Max could have 3 inputs where the new version only has 2. This makes an auto conversion impossible.
Again with switch 1.002. The only difference is that there are more inputs possible. If these are not required then there is little point in upgrading them. I can add this feature but as these components are very rarely used it is probably easier to update them manually.
I have limited its use to "my filters" folder ONLY. It would probably cause confusion if people started updating the main library
I could easily make this run through all the filters in "my filters" folder and update them all automatically. However I thought it safer to release it like this. I can add these features later if required.
I did some tests and really found no reason to update the old components. There appears to be no speed increase from updating the components. The biggest advantage appears to be that more blend modes are available.
How to Use
Download "Convert Old to New.exe"
Double click it to run it
Click File > Open and choose the filter to update
The program will tell you if it has imported successfully
Click Convert > Convert Data
The program will tell you if it has converted successfully
Click File > Exit to quit the program.
The program does not alter the old filter in any way. It created a brand new filter called filternameNEW.ffxml
It is up to you to fully test the new filter and then delete the old one.
Anyway here it is. Let me know if you find any problems or if you have any ideas to improve it

If I remember correctly, some blend modes on the older blend components were implemented incorrectly.
While I agree that there is no noticeable speed gain, it is always nice for an author to have his 'product' as brand-spankin-new (i.e. up-to-date) as possible. Well, at least, that's my perspective on obsolete components.
BTW, the URL above doesn't work for me. Maybe you can attach the file?

You are correct. The link is not working.
It would be much better if I could attach the file here but the forum does not allow
exe or .zip files to be attached.

PLEASE, PLEASE, does anyone have this tool to update filters from Ken ?
Both links above are broken and so Is not possible to download it.
It would be really great if some that have this could upload it again here.
This can be a really useful and interesting tool to have if it works as said
Thanks really very much
