Wow!!

Its a shame it could not work into a seamless version..it could be very useful for isometric game design.

Well darn, you pretty much managed to do what I couldn't. The colors are spot-on, and some of the variations look really good. I wish I still had my trial version so I could test this. Is it fast ?

Not very fast, no. Renders in about 3mins on my machine. With the preview-modes it's pretty fast to tweak though.

Had to take some shortcuts, like rendering the lighting after the smudge node (so it's not quite correct) and using the lookup trick for some stuff...

Great work on your Terrain Generator, very inspiring.

Here's a very quick attempt at a seamless isometric version. Needs some work, but it seems to be possible.

Hurrayyyyyyyyyyy! smile:banana: smile:ff:

edit:

Any chance we could have a preview were you take the water preview and after you use the black and white map to find the waterlevel blend the colors over the landmass?
Perhaps a low intensity overlay of the black and white over the color.

Or perhaps do some rough contour lines from the heightmap.

I did a quick mockup, using Redcaps contour shader

Perhaps too much hassle for a mere preview, but one would have a better idea of what's going on in one go.

Nice! I was tinkering around with a similar idea a while back, but I just did some black and white stuff (height shaded) - no lighting or water or anything this advanced.

Incredible! smile:eek:
How much of a stretch would it be to add some trees? Maybe like I did here with a bomber? Or like Corvus's?

OMGosh!

Very impressive!!!
at least 90 percent of all sensation is texture, even beyond the visual, with elements of noise, tone, gradients, interval and degree.
