Control Warning

The purpose of control warnings is to let the filter author know that a particular connection of a control component to a particular input may lead to non-intuitive filter controls. The most vivid example of such situation is a Color component controlling a checkbox input such as Inclined in Checker – filter users will have a hard time trying to figure out why changing the color causes sudden changes in the filter output:

Control Warning

Here are the key facts about control warnings:

  • A control warning means that the corresponding control component is not a good choice for controlling the target input.
  • To fix a control warning, follow the recommendations in its properties (see the picture above).
  • Filters with a control warning are not accepted into the Filter Library (they are blocked by the Submit Wizard).
