Seamless Tiling

All filters in Filter Forge support seamless tiling which gives the resulting image the ability to be repeated, or tiled, without visible seams. This may be necessary when the image is used as a web background, a desktop wallpaper or a texture in a 3D rendering or a game engine. To turn seamless tiling on, check the Seamless Tiling checkbox on the Settings tab in Filter Controls. Here are the key facts about how seamless tiling is implemented in Filter Forge:

  • Seamless Tiling is a global parameter – all filters support it automatically.
  • Seamless tiling doesn't make the original image seamless, it affects only the procedurally-generated parts of the filter output.
  • Seamless tiling works for both square and non-square images.
  • For discrete filters with Seamless Tiling turned on, the Size slider moves in discrete increments.
