3D modeling basics

Note: This page is for simple 3D tutorials for different 3D applications. The main goal of the tutorial should be checking your Filter Forge render maps in 3D (for further filter refinement). Anything more complicated should be on another page (ie '3D modeling advanced').
Please keep the tutorial simple.

  1. use only primitives: sphere, cube and/or plane
  2. focus on shaders
  3. use interface screenshots to clarify (I know the mind boggling interfaces 3D apps sometimes have)

I would add anything myself but I hardly know anything about this subject. So feel free to add anything you might find usefull.
