Desdinova, Thu, 12 Dec 2024 01:18:40 -0500
I just upgraded my GPU to an AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX. All the drivers are current and I'm running Vulkan API 1.3.292 and Vulkan Driver 2.0.317. OS is Win 10 Pro with 16 GBs of RAM. I've confirmed that Win is ignoring the system GPU and only using the AMD card. But I'm still getting the infamous error message:

"<class VPC::VException> Vulkan exception "limit exceeded" occured. Make sure that your graphics card drivers are updated to the latest version and that Vulkan 1.0.0.0 is supported on your machine."

Any ideas on what I can tweak or look at to resolve the issue?

Thanks!

Desdinova, Mon, 27 Jan 2025 07:13:23 -0500
Is there any reason to expect that this issue will be resolved any time soon? It seems a number of folks have the same complication and if Ultraforge can't figure out how to use the correct GPU, it seems simple enough to have the program simply give the user a choice on initial startup to manually direct it to the GPU that will work.

I don't have this issue with any other program so why can't Ultraforge be changed so it can load the same way other programs are?

fl0645, Sun, 22 Mar 2026 12:02:08 -0400
Hello, how to install or repair Vulkan error with AMD RYZEN 5900XT, and, RADEON 6900XT.

Thank you

Vulkan 1.0.0.0

Rachel Duim, Mon, 26 Jun 2023 09:35:36 -0400
What are the plans for UF and the Mac? I realize that Apple does not support Vulkan so it does seem iffy.

Vladimir Golovin, Mon, 26 Jun 2023 09:40:53 -0400
Hi Rachel! :)

Version 1 certainly won't have Mac support, because of the missing Vulkan support and the amout of work on the GUI in general.

In the future releases, however, things may get interesting. I don't expect Apple adding Vulkan support, but we could take a different route -- we could allow all nodes except the Vulkan-based ones. For example, we could allow all CPU nodes (strings, booleans, bitmaps), and perhaps even Stable Diffusion nodes. Though we haven't yet performed any experiments on that, so take my reply with a grain of salt.

SpaceRay, Mon, 26 Jun 2023 12:27:48 -0400

Quote

Vladimir Golovin wrote:
Version 1 certainly won't have Mac support, because of the missing Vulkan support

So there will not be for start a final version released for mac at first, BUT I think that it may be possible to use something like the Parallels software to emulate and use Windows 11 inside the Mac so it could run and use Ultraforge with Mac.

I suppose it should be compatible because I think that Vulkan is inside the OS and graphics drivers and these will be used in the Parallels software

Another thing is that the new M1 and M2 apple computer with exclusive integrated graphics cards may be compatible or not

Quote

Vladimir Golovin wrote:
. I don't expect Apple adding Vulkan support

I agree that I do not think that will never allow a native and direct support for Vulkan it works Vulkan only through the available Lunar software plugin workaround

DigitalWheelie, Wed, 08 Oct 2025 20:37:08 -0400
Any update on this, two years later?

Kork, Thu, 30 Jan 2025 08:35:14 -0500
Since the release of the preview version last summer, there doesn't seem to be much movement behind Ultraforge anymore. I see no blog posts, no updates, no emails mentioning it. This forum also seems largely deserted. So is this thing dead?

Erik Pedersen, Sun, 02 Feb 2025 23:41:34 -0500
....and if we paid for a lifetime subscription when do we get a refund?

Jason Galterio, Mon, 24 Mar 2025 10:57:06 -0400
Well, if it's abandoned I will certainly think twice about any future lifetime subscriptions here.

STEPH08, Thu, 27 Mar 2025 06:09:11 -0400

Quote

Kork wrote:
So is this thing dead?

Most likely! The race for the best AI is raging in every field, especially for video and music, dozens of new ‘better than anyone else’ AIs are being created every month, Photoshop and the like are mostly dead.

It is impossible to compete for a small player, FF and UF are niche but solid products for those who have time or want total control over their creation. The new Animator application is a welcome step.

There is no 'lifetime' subscription for UF.

Jason Galterio, Sun, 06 Apr 2025 10:04:29 -0400
Then what is "Ultraforge 1.0 Ultimate Edition — Permanent License?""

STEPH08, Sun, 06 Apr 2025 15:10:40 -0400

Quote

There is no 'lifetime' subscription for UF.

Quote

Jason Galterio wrote:
Then what is "Ultraforge 1.0 Ultimate Edition — Permanent License?""

:?:

With a perpetual license, you pay a one-time, upfront fee to own a copy of the software indefinitely. In our specific case, you get a personal key to unlock the demo version of UF v1.x, and the procedure will still work 20 years from now, even if the company or the Internet no longer exists.

A software subscription is a payment model that requires the user to pay a recurring fee to use the software over a specific period of time.

They offer a lifetime update, but only for FF and only until the software is developed. I have this model and accept that nothing is forever, maybe FF14 will be one of the last versions, who knows.

Pezza, Sat, 16 Aug 2025 03:58:51 -0400
How long does the trial last before you have to buy a licence?

Pezza, Sun, 17 Aug 2025 01:03:38 -0400
Answering my own question, it's 30 days.

Given how expensive it is, even at its current discounted price, and the apparent lack of development, wouldn't it be better to offer it at a much lower price?

Java10, Fri, 29 Aug 2025 19:17:43 -0400

Quote

How long does the trial last before you have to buy a licence?

Hi, I think it was a 30-days trial period

dpankros, Sat, 30 Aug 2025 17:44:04 -0400
Seems like Comfy UI or any number of other OSS interfaces for diffusion models would be better at this point. I hoped for more from this project, but I think the lack of response is our answer.

It's not nice that the developers don't care about customers or the UltraForge project at all.

I think a lot of UltraForge customers are FilterForge customers and are really angry and disappointed with the way UltraForge is being handled and developed.

You don't find out anything. Has the project died? I mean, if the developers are ill or aren't making any progress because of other events, then you can get in touch with the customers via newsletter or even try to create a helpful user manual. You don't need programmers for that.

I'm probably writing here for many people who just swallow their frustration and the company doesn't even notice their displeasure, because one thing is clear to me: I can't and won't advertise for this company any more, the way things are currently going with UltraForge.

If the project is dead, then be fair and inform people so that they don't have to rely on dead software any more.

Or inform customers why nothing has happened with the software since July 2024.

The company is currently losing a lot of trust from its loyal customers.

Because I really appreciate this company and especially the support staff, I am even writing these lines - because others just swallow their anger, avoid the company and certainly won't speak well about it on social media channels.

Please take the opportunity to contact the customers - because FilterForge will also suffer if no more money is invested in the company and its other products, with such behavior.

It's nice that we receive several emails about FilterForge every week.

Fifoiclone, Mon, 23 Sep 2024 13:33:05 -0400
Hello, I'm asking for help getting Ultraforge up and running. I bought a new, fast computer with a Geforce 4090 and large memory and made all the updates, including Vulcan. But I can't start the program because it aborts with the error message: <class VPC::VException> Vulkan exception "limit exceeded" occurred. Make sure that your graphics card drivers are updated to the latest version and that Vulkan 1.0.0.0 is supported on your machine.
I've already written to support twice, but I haven't received an answer. The check program for Ultraforge reports to me the best conditions for the program to function.Thank you for some help.

STEPH08, Tue, 24 Sep 2024 03:25:45 -0400
I had the same problem a few weeks ago after installing the latest UF version. The problem is that UF always chooses the integrated GFX card instead of the discrete Nvidia GFX card, even if you configure the graphics parameter to start UF with the discrete GFX card.
On my Alienware laptop with a 3080Ti, the GFX card is set to Auto, so the only solution I found for UF is to switch GFX cards on the fly and force Windows 11 to run with the discrete GFX. Then 'magically' UF works perfectly.

Fifoiclone, Wed, 25 Sep 2024 13:28:46 -0400
Thank you for the answer. Did I understand that correctly: you should switch the two graphics cards on the motherboard?
In the task manager I actually found GPU 0 from the computer and GPU1 was the NVIDIA, that could be the hierarchy. All settings tried in NVIDIA/Global Settings and Program Settings UF did not bring a solution

STEPH08, Wed, 25 Sep 2024 15:39:51 -0400

Quote

Fifoiclone wrote:
Did I understand that correctly: you should switch the two graphics cards on the motherboard?

No, you don't need to swap cards, you need to open the graphics settings and force Windows to run on the NVIDIA GPU by default instead of the integrated GPU; this disables the integrated GPU and even Notepad will run on the NVIDIA GPU and UF should work.

Fifoiclone, Tue, 01 Oct 2024 06:24:14 -0400
Thank you very much for the answer. I selected the Ultraforgex64 under System/Screen/Graphics and set it to high performance, where it displays Nvidia RTX 4090. Unfortunately, even after restarting it has the same error and does not start.

Do I have to do the graphics card settings somewhere else?

STEPH08, Thu, 03 Oct 2024 07:43:26 -0400
I have an Alienware laptop, so it is very easy to switch GPUs by just pressing an icon.
You can try changing the default GPU for the operating system in the BIOS.

Unfortunately, I cannot help you more.

Fifoiclone, Fri, 11 Oct 2024 03:01:54 -0400
Thank you very much for your help, that was very kind of you. I don't know whether I dare to access the bios and whether I can make these settings correctly. It's just a shame that support doesn't respond at all. I wish you all the best and have fun with graphics on the computer. Greetings from Bavaria

BillB, Sun, 03 Nov 2024 14:52:05 -0500
Here's what I did to overcome the <class VPC::VException> Vulkan exception "limit exceeded" error, following up on STEP08's very helpful answers. I have a laptop Geforce 4080 graphics card along with an integrated card. The Windows Display settings didn't offer any way to force the use of the Geforce 4080 for all applications as recommended by STEPH08. However the NVIDIA Control Panel App gives an interface under 3D Settings/Manage Display Mode to chose to use of the NVIDIA GPU only. That worked fine and Ultraforge 1001 ran great. A day later I chanced to restart my laptop and Ultraforge loaded properly but failed to make an image because of lack of memory. I fixed that by going to Windows Settings/Display and selecting display 2. That worked. This option did not show until I had used the NVIDIA App to force the GPU.
It's a little more detailed to get things to work, but all is good now. BTW I use the F1 key to turn on the High Performance Mode and get quicker results.

bluebliss, Wed, 27 Nov 2024 18:13:09 -0500
I installed the trial version of Ultraforge. Same Vulcan problem here on a Dell Precision workstation... I tried changing the settings in Nvidia control panel and updating drivers but that didn't help. Looks like I've saved myself some money by not being able to run this software:)

BillB, Sun, 03 Nov 2024 15:07:01 -0500
I like the added ability to delete image assets, this is very helpful for exploration of capabilities and saving memory.

I have noticed that the actual display of multiple finished results occurs quite a while after the program claims render is finished.

Is there a wiki, information or other info that shows how to use the function and GPU Function nodes? I have tried a few things but no luck. I know there is something there since the GPU Function node was added in v1001.

Will there be a way to programmatically save an image in a loop? This requires the ability to create filenames on the fly. I can do that reasonably well but cannot transfer that result for example to a Result:bitmap_Filename which of course doesn't actually save a file. It would be nice if To String could have a format input like "0##" from Int.

I'm having a lot of fun with Ultraforge...

I followed the guide on getting LoRAs from the CivitAI website. I put them in the C:\Ultraforge\SD 1.5 Extras\LoRA folder. Nothing happened when I ran Ultraforge, they didn't get loaded. What am I missing?

Thanks

GMM, Tue, 02 Apr 2024 10:59:36 -0400
The reason may be in the log file. Please check out C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\Ultraforge.log

What particular LoRA are you using? Most of the CivitAI LoRAs are compatible but not all of them.

cabaer, Tue, 27 Aug 2024 11:46:12 -0400
I have the same problem.

Vladimir Golovin, Fri, 23 Jun 2023 06:06:52 -0400
Hi everyone! I'm answering questions about Ultraforge, our new node-based, AI-powered Filter Forge successor. I'm online and I'll try to answer all questions that come up. Here are some suggested topics / questions:

- Ultraforge's approach to generative AI
- Turing-complete visual programming language
- GPU support and node domains in Ultraforge
- Seamless textures in Ultraforge
- Ultraforge vs Filter Forge: strengths and weaknesses

Here's the format I have in mind:
- One question per forum thread
- Everyone can post as many threads / questions as they want

Ask away!

Kaleiope, Mon, 26 Jun 2023 12:53:04 -0400
Is using Stable Diffusion, which is being sued for copyright infringement, for stealin thousands of artworks from thousands of artists, wise? :|

Also, is this the end of regular, non AI Filter Forge? :(

Vladimir Golovin, Mon, 26 Jun 2023 13:13:48 -0400

Quote

Kaleiope wrote:
Also, is this the end of regular, non AI Filter Forge?

No, the classic FF will still be supported. UF and FF are different products, with different strengths and weaknesses which don't always overlap. See my more detailed reply here: https://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...&TID=16845

Ray Mew, Mon, 26 Jun 2023 13:31:21 -0400
When will it be available for users of Mac?? and also will we be given the option of a joint subscription ?? Being a user of FF for many years( first got FF7 back in the dark ages) I will not want to give it up without a fight, but on the other hand I do like the sound of UF and hope that one can compliment the other.

Vladimir Golovin, Mon, 26 Jun 2023 14:03:43 -0400

Quote

Ray Mew wrote:
When will it be available for users of Mac??

We don't have a specific date yet, but it definitely won't be in the first release. At the moment, I just want to point out that there are absolutely legal and ethical cases of using SD (or any similar generative neural network) -- for example, you could use a model trained on public domain images, or on images you created, or on images you own or acquired necessary rights for.

ALZHEM, Mon, 26 Jun 2023 23:12:36 -0400

Quote

Vladimir Golovin wrote:

Quote
Kaleiope wrote:
Is using Stable Diffusion, which is being sued for copyright infringement, for stealin thousands of artworks from thousands of artists, wise?

So excited with Ultraforge!!! Kudos to the team!

About the Stable Diffusion question, I can offer some personal opinions.
Legally, the last thing I've read is you have a case suing when it's clear your work has been directly stolen (if something looks a lot like your piece), but that's not the case in virtually any the of cases (unless the AI model has been trained with your work directly). At the end of the day, we do the same thing by browsing images and getting inspiration by other's work, so once the dust settles AI will prevail.
About copyright, AI art is not copyrightable, but the modifications on top of it are. This is something that doesn't have strict rules and would be evaluated case by case. What makes me happy is that Ultraforge uses it as part of the whole node tree, so we are actually adding a lot of artistic input and modifications before and after the Stable Diffusion nodes, and that should be considered as an artistic modification.

Valhalla, Tue, 27 Jun 2023 05:49:07 -0400
Will it permit the utilization of the extensive repository of models available on platforms like CIV or HF? Furthermore, how comparable will it be to the quality achieved by MidJourney? I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to observe a few images of the software, even if the graphical user interface (GUI) is still in its preliminary stages of development. Also, the inclusion of an image generated by the software would be highly desirable.

My sole contribution to Filter Forge consisted of devoting months of continuous effort, working my gaming rig around the clock, to create an extensive library for FFENV. This undertaking was driven by the scarcity of available FFENV resources and the limited number of contributors. It was an enjoyable endeavor. Additionally, thank you for relocating the thread, which resulted in increased visibility among users and consequently led to thousands of downloads.

Lastly, with regard to individuals who made significant monetary investments (which holds a considerable value for me at least as I am disabled) to purchase Filter Forge lifetime licenses, is there a possibility of them receiving a discounted rate or offer?

Thank you for the valuable contributions you make to FF; it's one of the best graphics software ever made because of your dedication. I am filled with anticipation to witness the unveiling of UF. When I read GPU Support I said HOLY SHIT I want UltraForge today loud enough to shatter windows!

-Valhalla

Clemens Pilch, Tue, 27 Jun 2023 05:50:57 -0400
Hallo!
Danke

Clemens Pilch, Tue, 27 Jun 2023 05:51:35 -0400
Hello!

About a year ago, I bought the full version of "Filter Forge" including future updates or upgraded it. Now I have three questions.

1. Will Ultra Forge also be available for Mac and if so, from when?

2. They praise "Ultra Forge" as the successor to "Filter Forge." When will software updates for Filter Forge be discontinued?

3. My "Filter Forge" version includes free version updates. Does this now mean that I will continue to receive free updates on "Ultra Forge", or will my full version of over €800, including future updates, be obsolete soon? I ask for a clear, unambiguous answer. Thank you!

Valhalla, Tue, 27 Jun 2023 05:52:50 -0400
Apologies for the inconvenience caused, as the image failed to load in my email. Kindly disregard that portion of my previous post. Everything else is looking splendid!

Edouard., Sat, 22 Jul 2023 22:44:11 -0400
Hello,
If I order the Windows version, can I later switch to the Mac version without paying a second time?

Hobolyra, Sun, 30 Jul 2023 17:51:47 -0400
I have quite a few, that I would like to clear up before I think about purchasing this:

1) It's locally run, meaning generation is as well? Will this also include SD 2.1 (and required yalms) or XL generation code, or only 1.5?

2) Is there any advantage to this program over using other local installations currently? Or is it more for those who want an easy install/all in one, without tinkering with Automatic1111/python/comfyUI so on? Because currently the features and usability of such UIs are extensive and easily accessed.

3)If local run, would it support Xformers (or similar) for lower RAM set ups? Would it take advantage of Torch2 / triton / CUDAengine (again, or equivalent) for higher end setups?

I know it says one question per thread (reply?) but I've tried asking my 2nd question in it's own thread and never received an official reply so trying to learn as much as I can here.

SpaceRay, Fri, 04 Aug 2023 05:48:18 -0400

Quote

Hobolyra wrote:
Is there any advantage to this program over using other local installations currently?

Sorry that I have never used Stable diffusion AI and do not know about any of the things you tell

But, if I am not wrong and I may understand that what you want to know if it is worth to buy this Ultraforge instead of using what you already have for AI

As far as I know from what the information available here, Ultraforge is much more that justo only a simple host of Stable diffusion AI and It Will let you make much more thing that may not be available anywhere else, as you can mix the AI with the Ultraforge nodes and get revolutionary results that would not be possible in other ways

So as said is maybe wrong thinking that Ultraforge is just a host of Stable diffusion AI, because It is just ONE of the many parts that are integrated

So I think that you can not compare It unless you only want to use It just for Stable diffusion AI without using any of the other many available tools, features and options

tantographics, Sat, 21 Oct 2023 12:44:14 -0400
Re: Stable Diffusion:

I know for a fact, Stable Diffusion used 3 of my images to train on without my consent. Haven't you learned how to do something by looking at other's work? Or take inspiration by checking ArtStation? Or use an image you found online as a background on one of your projects without checking its copyright? AI does the same, just faster. At the moment, at least we are protected by the fact AI artwork can't be copyrighted. The sad truth is those not using AI at companies will be left behind, so, as a friendly advice, I recommend you ride the wave instead of being trampled by it.

NOTE: I don't really know you, so if what you say is based on just working on your own art pieces and your job doesn't have anything to do with CG, then I'm 100% with you.

STEPH08, Wed, 25 Oct 2023 04:51:10 -0400

Quote

tantographics wrote:
The only reason Stable Diffusion exists is through the stolen images

An interesting article on an avenue to explore to protect your work from AI exploitation.
Artists Could Use a Poison Pill to Combat AI Exploitation

Valhalla, Wed, 31 Jan 2024 07:18:56 -0500
Hobolyra, UF is still in its infancy, but from the way they work on FF I would say yes, eventually UF will support every version of SD. If I had to guess, I'd say we'll see XL somewhere in between summer and winter. The beta is more like alpha, so I expect to see a ton of new additions when released. The beta is ugh to me, and when I forked out the $199 (own FF-SE Lifetime) I expected the version in the image on the main UF page, was a huge letdown. But I don't mind waiting because I know UF will be the best SD - SDXL software within a year or two max. When it comes to anything serious, like ez stock image money, I use MidJourney/Topaz Gigapixel AI and make what's trending but better. Evil? A little bit, but I like ez money.
>:-)

Anywho, I'll stop chattering, I do hope UF meets your expectations by releasing a very detailed roadmap before it cost out the wazoo.

linvanchene, Thu, 29 Feb 2024 06:45:48 -0500
1) Do you have plans to release your own checkpoints for Stable Diffusion models that were trained in an ethical way?
SD1.5, SDXL, SD3?

2) Do you have plans to make Ultraforge compatible with ComfyUI in a way that Custom Nodes and Models can be imported?

3) Do you have plans to work together with some of the model developers (ControlNet, IPAdapter, ReActor etc) to adapt their technology for Ultraforge?

Ultraforge was a great entry point into AI for me because it provided a user friendly experience.

After that I looked at other Stable Diffusion user interface options and realized that I enjoy creating my own custom workflows with Upscaling, ControlNet, IPAdapter etc.

The core issue remains that it is somewhat challening to check the license of every single checkpoint and model if it can be used for commercial purposes.
Individual developers may lose interest to keep their ui, custom nodes and models up-to-date when new base models are relased.

My hope remains that Ultraforge could provide some transparency, stability and reliability as a long term solution.

GMM, Thu, 29 Feb 2024 10:44:57 -0500

Quote

linvanchene wrote:
1) Do you have plans to release your own checkpoints

Our focus is on software development, not checkpoint developments. This would greatly facilitate searching for appropriate combinations of parameters to optimize an image. Is there a plan to implement such nodes?

3) The list with elem, map, tail and take nodes don't seem to exist yet or I can't find them. How long before they are implemented? Are these node items what would be used to implement a quasi looping mode which would be cool?

Thanks

GMM, Wed, 27 Mar 2024 06:44:26 -0400
BillB, welcome to the forums!

I hope this screenshot addresses your concerns.

Ask away!

Ultraforge enhances Filter Forge with generative AI, a Turing-complete visual programming language, GPU support, and seamless texture creation. It surpasses Filter Forge in flexibility and performance..

Java10, Sun, 18 Aug 2024 17:33:59 -0400
First of all, I have to say that I think it's a shame that UltraForge doesn't have a proper manual or help library. You'd love to experiment so much, but it's because you don't understand the syntax.

For example, I'm looking for a random function? Where can I find it and how can I use it?

For example, I want the "Seed" element to use a different random integer with each render.

The same applies to the "if, else, then" programming block.

If is either true or false. In other programming languages, I can use if to check whether a value or a string is true and then the other parts of the program are run through - not here and I have no idea how it works with UltraForge.

This is wasted potential, because this is exactly the area that represents the added value compared to the free alternatives, but the users are left alone.

STEPH08, Sat, 31 Aug 2024 13:15:50 -0400

Quote

Java10 wrote:
I have to say that I think it's a shame that UltraForge doesn't have a proper manual or help library.

You are absolutely right, UF without a thorough manual is too frustrating, a real shame and a waste of potential.

I also wonder if UF isn't just an experiment for the FF team, since there doesn't seem to be much enthusiasm or ongoing development, but maybe I'm wrong.

It is also true that technology is going so fast that it is very difficult to keep up without large investments; every month there are new AIs that not only generate images, but also movies and sounds.

...
With dedicated AI chips in new ARM processors and, in the future, Intel processors as well, I dream of a new version of FF that takes advantage of these chips and allows effects and animations to be generated with text input.

BillB, Thu, 28 Mar 2024 17:37:55 -0400
Hi, I'm a little challenged, can't figure out how to convert floats and integers back and forth easily. Working on automatic image size conversion to good sizes...

yojoza, Fri, 24 May 2024 15:24:55 -0400
I was looking for this too. I wanted to ensure that image size would automatically be converted to a maximum height or width of (say) 768. My workaround is this.

The "Resize" node, when set to proportional, only needs the width argument. It'll calculate the proportional value for height itself. So you can simply enter a value of "1" for height. When the height is the larger of the two, rotate the image to make it the width then rotate it back. You can then set the Resize width argument to a target number (e.g., 768).

This way the float operations are handled internally by Resize.

BillB, Sat, 25 May 2024 20:37:25 -0400
Thanks yojoza, I'll try this. I like the idea of rotating the image.
I've been resizing to 736 max dimension since I often crash on anything bigger. Even at 736 if the other dimension is too large, somewhere above 544, it will crash.

Cate Blanchett, Sun, 18 Aug 2024 08:36:37 -0400
Converting between floats and integers in Python is straightforward. Use int() to convert a float to an integer (truncating the decimal) and float() to convert an integer to a float. For automatic image size conversion, you can round or floor/ceil the float values to maintain the best aspect ratios before converting to integers.

yojoza, Sun, 18 Aug 2024 23:16:57 -0400
Converting between floats and integers in any programming language is straightforward. But that doesn't explain how to do so using Ultraforge's node-based programming. Which nodes, specifically, allow conversion between integers and floats within Ultraforge?

Here's my original problem in a nutshell. (The workaround I posted above works to resolve this but it's not elegant.)

- Ultraforge works well for me with SD 1.5 Image-to-Image as long as the assets are 768x768 or smaller.
- I don't want the headache of converting assets in Photoshop to fit these dimensions
- I want to convert directly in Ultraforge so that...
...square images are resized to 768 x 768
...rectangular images with Width > Height are resized to 768 x Y
...rectangular images with Height > Width are resides to Y x 768

However:

- The GetHeight and GetWidth nodes only output integers
- When Divide node gets two integers as input, the output can be an integer. (The divide node refuses to let me change the output type.)

As far as I can tell, there is no way to force the output type for the Divide node. There's also apparently no way to convert the GetHeight and GetWidth values to float and no way to convert floats to integers. Of course, I could be missing something. With no manual or tutorials, I'm in the dark. I've been able to get by so far with a passable understanding of functional programming/lambda calculus.

Java10, Tue, 20 Aug 2024 17:53:39 -0400

Quote

With no manual or tutorials, I'm in the dark.

Hi Yojoza,

OK, we are no two :)

I think you are already much further ahead than me - have you found a node that generates a random number e.g. for the parameter "Seed"?

I would like to help you with your problem, but you are way ahead of me.

For example, only 2 output images instead of 4. Everyone can then manage to turn the 2 images into 4 later, but the quick guide tutorials are a huge diagram of nodes and I don't understand, for example, how to use concat strings sensibly and what that is supposed to do in UltraForge?

I know what concat, boolean, strings etc. mean as programming elements - I just don't know what they are used for in the Ultraforge node editor and why they can help.

Thank you.

Please take a look at the screenshot of the quick manual

Upscaler-Quick Manual

and compare it with mine in the screenshot. I'm missing all the parameters like Alpha, Tiled, Tile width, etc.

I have onle "Image"

upscaler-node-less-parameters.jpg

What am I doing wrong?

GMM, Tue, 09 Jul 2024 05:50:09 -0400
Java10, what UF version do you use?
The one available on the website (build from June 27th) corresponds to the quick start manual and not to your screenshot.

If you're using the latest version please send the .ufo file to us.

Java10, Tue, 09 Jul 2024 13:11:57 -0400
Thank you for the quick response. Of course, that must be the problem.

I know that the developers have a lot of work, but it would be nice and desirable if interested parties or customers had an overview of the builds. I downloaded Ultraforge 1.001 at the end of February and was only able to test it in the last few days.

Of course, I checked the homepage before installing to see if there was a new version, but the download file is still called Ultraforge 1.0 Setup.exe and 1.001 is next to it. So for me as an outsider, there has been no further development and I don't have to replace the installation file - wrong thought, as it turns out.

I will test it in the next days. So I have to deinstall the old version - right?

Couldn't the build numbers be communicated clearly in the future?

Thank you for your help.

GMM, Wed, 10 Jul 2024 12:25:08 -0400

Quote

Java10 wrote:
Couldn't the build numbers be communicated clearly in the future?

Thanks for the feedback, this has somehow slipped past us. Will there be release notes available in the future so that comparisons can be made between the individual versions? At some point the bug fix for the upscaler would have been listed and I would have noticed it.

Is there a reason why the sub-release numbers x.001 are no longer specified?

GMM, Thu, 11 Jul 2024 08:03:07 -0400

Quote

Java10 wrote:
Will there be release notes available in the future

Unfortunately no release notes at the moment, let's hope the devs will provide some in the future.

Quote

Java10 wrote:
Is there a reason why the sub-release numbers x.001 are no longer specified?

Technically all UF builds are version 1.001 which makes little sense considering the amount of improvements introduced since the release.

Java10, Thu, 11 Jul 2024 17:43:37 -0400
Thank you for the quick and detailed answers.

Kitty Ai, Sat, 28 Oct 2023 23:46:30 -0400
First of all, I would like to mention automatic1111 in order to compare it with ultraforge so that the dev can use this to compete with automatic1111 which is a free program.
I know that there are professional experts in this forum. If there is any mistake, please help fix it. It will be useful for other users.

I have studied and used automatic1111 for a while.
It is complicated to install and requires a high learning curve.
Each time the image is rendered the quality is randomized by seed. Unable to fully control it. Even a slight edit to the prompt the image created will change.

I downloaded ultraforge beta 1.0 and tried it out.
My system has cpu i9 and gpu rtx 2070 8GB vram.
I found that the program can render images well at 512x512 pixels.
But the quality of the image in each render will be random according to the seed, similar to automatic1111.

Similarly, sometimes people's faces are distorted, extra fingers, extra limbs, and they look deformed.

As I know, SD1.5 will start rendering the first image with lower quality when using resolutions higher than the size of the images being trained in the model. For example, having additional limbs, having two heads, or having multiple people stacked on top of each other.

This means that even if you own a GPU with a lot of VRAM, you won't be able to create large images as desired. This must create an image at 512x512 with no more than 768 pixels. Most models use this resolution for training.
And the resolution in render area must not be too low so that SD1.5 can add details to the image.

When this is the case, it is necessary to render a large number of images and select good quality images to increase the quality by upscaling.

For a GPU with enough VRAM, you may check hi-res fix to increase the quality of the rendered the first image, which will get more detail and 2 times the image size.

Upscale using automatic1111 "Extras". It is a direct upscaling without adding details to the image. And will take that image and add details with img2img by inpainting the parts that want to add details by manual.

Upscale in img2img with controlnet(tile) + ultimate SD upscale is an automatic upscale. Larger and more detailed images will be obtained. Even GPUs with less VRAM can do this, but it may take more time. Sometimes you may see faint lines between the edges of the tiles.

Upscale with TileDiffusion as with ultimateSdUpscale. But there is still a problem of not being stable. Sometimes you have to restart the automatic 1111.
Each restart takes approximately 1 minute. It's really inconvenient, right?

Improving the quality of images using automatic1111 That is difficult and time consuming. Sometimes it may fail.

Right now, Ultraforge beta 1.0 can only render 512x512 images with a maximum resolution of no more than 768.
can't make batch images render.
can't upscale image with add more detail.
The advantage now is that it's easier to install. and very faster start than automatic1111.

I wish ultraforge 1.0 could upscale while adding more detail. Correct extra fingers, extra limbs, and distorted faces.
Easy to use and can use the images created for commercial.
There are other techniques such as controlling facial expressions, controlling people's poses, people interact with each other in the scene etc.

If possible, Ultraforge should have own models because most civilai.com models cannot be used for commercial use.

cadranni, Sun, 29 Oct 2023 18:47:40 -0400
Definitely need bigger images, upscaling, inpainting, and commercial use licensing. My own personal use is for book covers. A Kindle book cover is 2560 pixels high by 1600 wide, 300 dpi. Double that and add a book spine for a paperback. I'm sure there are many other commercial uses with similarly large formats. Even the standard 1024 x 1024 that is available on other AI generators isn't enough.

Cate Blanchett, Wed, 12 Jun 2024 08:51:27 -0400

Quote

Kitty Ai wrote:
First of all, I would like to mention automatic1111 in order to compare it with ultraforge so that the dev can use this to compete with automatic1111 which is a free program.
I know that there are professional experts in this forum.

Locksmith Sherman Oaks

If possible, Ultraforge should have own models because most civilai.com models cannot be used for commercial use.

Ultraforge beta 1.0 simplifies installation but lacks batch rendering and detailed upscaling. Enhancements for usability and commercial usage are needed for competitive edge.

Mike Weis, Wed, 17 Apr 2024 22:37:15 -0400
UF does not work on Windows 11 ARM under Parallels Desktop. I get this message:

This program can only be installed on versions of Windows designed for the following processor architectures:
x64

Mac6, Mon, 10 Jun 2024 19:57:59 -0400
Correct, it requires x86/x64 (Intel or AMD) CPU and a dedicated graphics card with 8GB VRAM. Even if you run Parallels on an Intel CPU, I don't think it can do GPU pass-through. The ARM cpu is 64-bit so I think they need to make it clear they refer to the x86/x64 architecture, not ARM.

Ultraforge was looking at the Integrated Intel GPU drivers instead of the NVidia drivers for Vulkan compatibility. After going through a bunch of hoops, finally discovered that the problem was not coming from the Ultraforge end, the NVidia end, or the Windows end. It was MSI controlling the GPU switching. MSI had set the default for GPU control to MSHybrid Graphics mode. Going through the MSI Center Application one can change this to Discrete Graphics Mode, forcing the use of the NVidia GPU. After a reboot.. Ultraforge loaded with no problems.

Cate Blanchett, Sat, 18 May 2024 02:22:01 -0400
Ensure your system prioritizes your Nvidia RTX 4080 for Vulkan.

BillB, Tue, 26 Mar 2024 12:34:21 -0400
It would be very useful for a node script save file (*.ufo) if we could have the ability to delete an image asset.
This would allow several things:
- sharing of programming techniques and scripts without unneeded images that may have been used to develop the node script
- minimizing the size of saved scripts with specific prompts or operating parameters for specific img2img applications
Thanks

GMM, Wed, 27 Mar 2024 06:45:37 -0400

Quote

BillB wrote:
we could have the ability to delete an image asset

This is very high on the todo list. Should be implemented in a future program update.

BillB, Thu, 28 Mar 2024 12:41:45 -0400
Thanks for the speedy reply. In addition, the lack of a slider on the bitmap asset node brings image analysis to a dead stop after the asset list gets beyond 16 assets. It is pretty tedious to hook up all the img2img nodes to make a new ufo. I hope the update comes soon...

GMM, Tue, 02 Apr 2024 11:00:49 -0400

Quote

BillB wrote:
the lack of a slider on the bitmap asset node

<s>Uhm, I've got a slider on the bitmap asset node. Are you using the latest UF build? Please send the screenshot of what you see.</s> Yes, thanks for the report, we reproduced the issue and forwarded to the developers.

Jason Galterio, Thu, 04 Apr 2024 14:03:03 -0400
I have a work around for this.

First, make a blank placeholder image. Something small. 25x25 for example.

Second, open up the UFO that you want to remove the reference images from. Select everything on the page and copy.

Open a new project and paste your items into that. Import the placeholder image into the assets. Point the image resources to that placeholder, then save the UFO.

If it worked, you should now have a blank template UFO that you can load, import a new image to, reassign the image assets, then save as a new UFO.

TheProvert, Wed, 17 Apr 2024 14:38:43 -0400
I also found a workaround. Open the .ufo file with 7zip as an archive. Then delete the folder named Assets and the .txt file named Assets. when you do that 7zip will automatically save when you do this. Just do this and add more. Done deal :D

BillB, Fri, 17 May 2024 15:17:01 -0400
Thanks TheProvert! This works really well.

sexymac, Fri, 10 Nov 2023 09:35:33 -0500
I am disappointed with the subscription model of this program. It is not fair to charge a high monthly fee when ultraforge is still buggy and unreliable. I had a subscription for several months but I did not receive a key when the program was released so I have been using the trial. I think you should have offered a free beta until you fixed the basic issues, instead of asking for money so early.

Ultraforge also tells me that my system is not powerful enough, but I doubt that. I have another program called comfyui (stable diffusion) that I can render an image offline in less than 5 minutes using its checkpoints, vae, and loras i get from civai. So I don't think ultraforge's system tester is completely accurate. I can't even start a simple image with ultraforge. Left it running for like 15 minutes and it never starts. I know it's still a beta and you are good at making programs. I am a big fan of filter forge and I have a lifetime membership of it. Just leaving some feedback on ultraforge

sexymac, Fri, 10 Nov 2023 09:39:00 -0500
I have been a member of this forum for almost a decade, but this is my first post. I usually refrain from commenting unless I think my input might be useful.

andyz, Thu, 16 Nov 2023 05:40:12 -0500
Subscriptions should not be available when it is so unready - I asked about them before the beta was even out and was told I would start paying immediately - for nothing! This is just wrong

sexymac, Thu, 16 Nov 2023 10:52:17 -0500
100% agree, I love this company so I am not going to judge them on ultraforge, I will just decide to not use it, too me it feels like its comfyUI packaged up in an unstable executable.

danramarch, Sun, 17 Dec 2023 14:04:10 -0500
I was playing around a bit with UltraForge and I'm also surprised at how bare bones it is considering the price. I've used Stability Matrix and ComfyUI as well and those can do what UltraForge does a bit better and easier. I think UltraForge will be worth the price once it adds a lot of new features.

Mac6, Tue, 16 Jan 2024 20:37:20 -0500
It's very disappointing. Not even a feature to load a bitmap. I'm looking for a refund, I've ended up having to buy other products.

ceramix4, Sun, 17 Mar 2024 08:49:36 -0400
I very liked FF, but man, I laughed when I saw the UF price, considering amount of freeware Stable Diffusion clients that can do all the same, and already even for low entry users level. And note - they are becoming even more powerful and simpler almost per week.
Dev guys, seriously, best way it would be make gift for your FF users, like grab FF>UF crossgrade for 20-30 bucks, and you would hit the jackpot.

However not sure, perhaps your development (and its pricing) originated at a time when AI clients were the lot of programmers, with scripts and other crap. So if today would be still all the same, then perhaps yes. But times changed in large.

William Connors, Wed, 28 Feb 2024 10:48:07 -0500
I'm working on a PC and just received my activation key for Ultraforge. I have stripped off the Beta, installed the new software, and attempted to start it. I entered the key and had activation confirmed. When the program starts to boot, I get a momentary flash of what I assume is the opening interface, and then my whole system hits a blue screen crash. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to see if that helps, but no luck. Are there known conflicts or other issues that could be causing this?

I would send an image of the blue screen, but it flashes by too quickly.

I'm not a tech guy, so any help you can provide would be great.

Zenith Beast, Wed, 28 Feb 2024 14:45:52 -0500
i know the blue screen crash error is @William Connors

Stopcode: SYSTEM_Thread_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Cause of error: igdkmdn64.sys

William Connors, Thu, 29 Feb 2024 15:09:02 -0500
Thanks! I downloaded the executable today and installed, there was no mention of a license anywhere and it didn't matter whether I was logged into this site or not. How can I enter a license when it won't launch to let me enter license info?

Rachel Duim, Sat, 30 Dec 2023 20:26:37 -0500
Go to this download page and install the updated program. Is there a heads up on a release date or any news that might help us?

GMM, Thu, 18 Jan 2024 04:51:43 -0500
"License information is invalid!" is a licensing issue while "I can't enter the key because the program won't launch" is not.

If you have paid you're eligible for a beta key. Contact the support team to receive it.
The commercial release in planned within a month.

kenb129, Thu, 18 Jan 2024 21:08:25 -0500
I looked into the event viewer, nothing there to help figure out why it won't launch. I was looking to buy it, but not when it won't run.

kenb129, Tue, 20 Feb 2024 20:44:38 -0500
I installed the new beta, same error. I guess I won't be purchasing this product.

Valhalla, Sat, 18 Nov 2023 15:58:18 -0500
With the decline in the production of SD1.0 to SD2.5 models and the rapid acceleration of SDXL model and SDXL LORA creation, please take a quick look at the information I'm about to share before making a purchase just to end up seeking a refund, as doing so negatively impacts the company. I've seen a ton of refunds partly because the compatibility checker is set too low IMO and people not understanding how GPU intensive Stable Diffusion, especially XL actually is.

I'll keep it brief as I can, but a max SDXL setup is complex, requires a higher end hardware and once UF supports SDXL, you'll want at least the following. PCI4 motherboard(RTX 3060+ bottlenecks PCI3 lanes), i7 or i9 with 8c/16t | 5.2GHz - 5.5GHz OC CPU, 64GB RAM(32GB minimum), 1TB Gen 4x4 M.2 Storage, and a 24GB RTX 3090, the most crucial hardware. Running SDXL, SDXL Refiner, and a SDXL LORA will consume approximately 14GB VRAM from the models alone. These components are fully compatible with Stable Diffusion 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, XL 0.9, and XL 1.0

The good news is that you can find a used RTX 3090 Founders Edition for around $500 on eBay

FiberArtist, Thu, 21 Dec 2023 08:42:24 -0500
Hey Valhalla,

Is UF not going to work at all with a less powerful graphics card, or just slowly? Just purchased and saw this after :(

Valhalla, Thu, 18 Jan 2024 20:40:24 -0500
If your card is 4GB+ you're fine. A 4GB (6GB recommend) GPU will work with almost any SD configuration no problem, SDXL itself needs at least an 8GB GPU, SDXL + LORAs on 11GB/12GB RTX cards and SDXL with anything on a 16GB card as long as your base VRAM usage is low, which is why a 24GB card is best.

I wouldn't go with 16GB cards, they cost nearly twice as much as a used 24GB RTX 3090FE ($500 - $600) and even cheaper options exist, you can get a used 24GB Tesla P40 dirt cheap ($180 - $250) and run SDXL just fine albeit slowish by today's standard but still decent rendering speed, especially with SDXL Turbo. SDXL Turbo renders images fast as you can type on a 3090.

Anywho, good luck. (=^_^=)
-Valhalla

(like ESRGAN)

I don't have any experience in upscaling AI images, (compared to a standard image) but this article gives us an idea of the process:
- Why can’t we use a traditional upscaler ?
https://stable-diffusion-art.com/ai-upscaler/

Thank you for your information ;)

GMM, Wed, 10 Jan 2024 06:17:00 -0500
The latest beta update already has upscalers – please check out this help section:
https://filterforge.com/ultraforge/qui...-upscalers

The next version will feature LoRa support, and you'll be able to indicate weights for LoRas.

geekatplay, Thu, 28 Dec 2023 16:52:57 -0500
First off great work on the project, however, I feel that without special features Ultraforge does not stand out from free applications, that can do the same stuff even better. Example Stable Matrix, one-click install with multiple interfaces, including ComfyUI (node-based) that will work on cross platforms. And it is free.
My point of this post is not to bring down, but to identify points, that will make UF stand out of the current competition.
- don't focus on generating images, focus on processing existing photos, styles ...etc
- creating tile textures
- adding nodes to export normals, bump maps ...etc
- creating PBR textures (FYI few of the AI generators will do that with extensions)
- creating 3d meshes for texture or landscapes
- creating animate overlays (rain, falling snow, smoke ...)
- creating assets for the game dev
- if creating images import all good stuff (nodes) from Filter Forge and let Ultra Forge use them in post-generated images as input image

STEPH08, Fri, 29 Dec 2023 05:16:13 -0500
(I agree with everything you say)

The strongest point so far is that it's a standalone app, which is very important if you want to work in a safe environment / offline. I don't know if it's possible to train the AI on a private pool of images, I hope so.

geekatplay, Fri, 29 Dec 2023 12:43:39 -0500
Yes, you can train models or LoRA locally. I have videos explaining how to do this on my channel at https://www.youtube.com/@geekatplay. I believe UltraForge could greatly benefit from training its models using textures generated by FilterForge. Additionally, creating a turbo model for real-time generation would be a significant advantage.

I'm guessing UFs release will be SD 2.1 and XL will eventually be added. Even when it's added you'll still be able to use SD 2.1 and SDXL with a LORA without the refiner with a 12GB GPU.

Right now I'm so hyped about SDXL Turbo and can't wait for it to be added to UF. It's so fast that it makes animation possible with a single 3090. It freaking generates images almost as fast as you can type!

Still trying to get it to do anything in chaining, but honestly, it's not looking good yet. ;x

I also can't seem to get the img2img to work at all yet, but I only get like one render attempt before having to start it all back up.

I certainly appreciate them hitting the (second) date, but if anyone else is experiencing this behavior, I don't think it was ready to call beta.

And no, my machine has no problem running large renders with massive ComfyUI chains (or InvokeAI graphs) with many concurrently loaded models, so it's not that.

Just doesn't look ready. As a result files don't get copied and are not available for further installation, Setup fails!. I explicitley have to go into windows settings and allow an unidentified application access to a protected folder. So you either select a different installation folder or you make sure the folder is accessible for your setup program! Aside all the other issues I have to admit it takes guts and seems to be an astounding misjudgement to call this a "BETA" Version. Can we agree on pre-alpha proof of concept? ;)

Btw: my attached screenshot gets ignored (file type limitations?)

DarkClown, Fri, 20 Oct 2023 13:24:59 -0400
Just to complete test report. After reinstalling todays version the program already crashed when pushing the render button with default start settings. I'm happy to be constructive and share error screens and bug reports but since attaching html, jpg and png files do not work with the "Attach file..." function (maybe someone can explain how they managed!?) I''ll have to wait for a different way to submit my work....

Mister Snarl, Fri, 20 Oct 2023 14:21:10 -0400
So weird, I thought you may have meant this, but I only have options 1 and 3 on my computer. There is no 2 to choose preferred graphics card. Do you have two nvidia cards by chance in your system? Maybe you have that option because it's asking you which nvidia card to chose.

STEPH08, Fri, 20 Oct 2023 14:41:46 -0400

Quote

Mister Snarl wrote:
Do you have two nvidia cards by chance in your system?

No, I have the integrated Intel GPU and the discrete Nvidia rtx3080Ti.

Ilmeni, Sun, 22 Oct 2023 16:43:06 -0400
so i downloaded ultraforge 1.0 beta some minutes ago on a different machine.

from an earlier forum post of GMM i take this is a new version. no crash at rendering so far. but blue screen after closing the programme the first time after rendering without problems and then saving a ufo file.

still problems trying a checkpoint (dreamshaper_8, i posted the link to civitai). it shows in the drop down menu under SD 1.5 with a number added to it. there also is a fingerpringt in the C:\Users\Public\Documents\Ultraforge\Cache\Checkpoints folder.

similar message as on the other machine: Unable to extract checkpoint file 'G:\Art\Ultraforge Resources\SD 1.5 Extras\Checkpoints\dreamshaper_8.safetensors'.

otherwise my graphic card here (RTX 3060) is better than on the other machine and that seems to affect the quality of results... but not sure about this yet.

STEPH08, Mon, 23 Oct 2023 04:03:19 -0400
I would like to know how much VRam you need to render 768 x 768 images or more. 16GB VRam is not enough.

GMM, Tue, 24 Oct 2023 09:30:07 -0400

Quote

Ilmeni wrote:
still problems trying a checkpoint

Thanks for the details, the devs are working on the issue. That is what most of the marketing is saying. As an artist who enjoys the creation process, I'm not into AI. I get emails to buy UF as I use FF. But I am concerned it is mainly an AI thing.

The other feature that I get from the marketing materials is 'batch process a bunch of images.' To batch process an image I can make a PS action to say crop these images by X.

Are those the 2 main functions of UF?

Desdinova, Mon, 06 Nov 2023 21:34:35 -0500
I haven't had the chance to install and play with the beta so my apologies is if this question would be answered by actually playing with the program.

My primary content PC is 10 years old but is still somewhat beefy: 32 gigs of RAM and three graphic cards (one Quadro K200 and two GTX 660s) with a total of 12 gigs of GPU memory. Can Ultraforge use the GPU memory parsed out over the three cards or will it require the minimum 8 gigs to be on a single card?

GMM, Tue, 07 Nov 2023 05:50:42 -0500
Desdinova, I doubt this is technically possible. In any case please use the system requirements checker to verify if your video cards are supported.

Valhalla, Sat, 18 Nov 2023 13:57:35 -0500
I'd first check if stable diffusion supports SLI (but that requires 2 of the same card,) but it's not really a big thing since next generation GPUs are so powerful and cheap. For example, you can get a used RTX 3090 FE (founders edition) for ~$500 on ebay or FB Market. The 24GB of vram is a must for SDXL and will be for everything after XL. Also, one 12GB dirt cheap RTX 3060 will be better than your setup and most importantly compatible with everything up to a SDXL model with one SDXL lora, no refiner though. You will want to upgrade your motherboard to one with PCI4 since RTX 3K+ maxes out PCI3 lanes. I know spending cash to upgrade sucks, especially to use a program you bought, but people really should look into SDXL requirements before spending hundreds of dollars.

For Vulkan-based nodes, a GeForce 1030 would suffice, and for SD nodes you'll need something beefier, like GeForce RTX 2060 with 8GB of VRAM.

stingerjpgr, Thu, 09 Nov 2023 08:34:03 -0500

Hi
I have cancelled the subscription to UltraForge. My Dell laptop is not powerful enough. Im very disappointed.

It seems I would have to buy a new laptop.

Does anyone have suggestions for which laptop is the best to run UltraForge?

Thanks for any help.

stingerjpgr

SpaceRay, Thu, 16 Nov 2023 14:48:57 -0500

Quote

Vladimir Golovin wrote:
but for full functionality you'll need a GPU. For Vulkan-based nodes, a GeForce 1030 would suffice, and for SD nodes you'll need something beefier, like GeForce RTX 2060 with 8GB of VRAM.

Sorry to ask, and really have not seen the instructions of Ultraforge as I do not have a PC now to test it

Which ones are the Vulkan-based nodes?

And what would you need if you want to buy an AMD GPU? Because if you are using Vulkan, it will work for Nvidia and AMD too.

Valhalla, Thu, 16 Nov 2023 20:24:04 -0500
I suggest a used RTX 3090 FE on ebay/FB Market which you can find for ~$500. Trust me, you'll want the 24GB of VRAM for SDXL because running a SDXL model, SDXL Refiner, SDXL Lora and SDXL Textual Inversion (sometimes a controlnet(img2img)) in ComfyUi will eat around 15GB of VRAM. Also, since they're next gen cards, there will be zero SD compatibility issues. Also make sure your PC has at least 32GB of RAM and run Stable Diffusion on a M.2 Gen 4x4 drive. Lastly, if you watch FB Market close you can come across a early RTX 3090 for low as $300 if you're fast, and the best part is you can quickly run a stress test on the card before buying.

Happy hunting.

Things to know: Make sure your seed is visible until I enhance the script since it's a very rough draft. Only tested on a 4k screen, but I used location of the seed box edit8 so hopefully it will work on any screen size.

To use google AutoHotkey and download version 1 and install it. Once installed make a new text file, paste the following code into it, save and close the text file.

steini, Thu, 26 Oct 2023 05:26:44 -0400
I have a laptop with 2 graphics cards: HD Intel and NVIDIA. The UF test shows:
"Windows version: 10 or higher – Passed.
Vulkan version: 1.3 – Passed.
Free disk space: 617,6 GB – Passed.
VRAM: 8,0 GB – Generative AI nodes may not always work. 8 GB is recommended.
Ultraforge will run on this machine, but its generative AI features may not work or may be limited because the requirements aren’t fully met.
Device 0: Intel® UHD Graphics
Device 1: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU
Device 2: Microsoft Basic Render Drive"

My laptop has 32GB RAM and 8GB VRAM. Why does the check calculate these values?
"VRAM: 8,0 GB – Generative AI nodes may not always work. 8 GB is recommended." O.K., then I give more RAM for the graphics card via the BIOS. But I couldn't find these settings in the BIOS anymore. On my old laptop I was able to reserve RAM for the HD graphics card. There is no longer.

A UF test with the "KITTY" results in a brown spot. In the diaper control panel APP assigned to high performance = NVIDIA. Test shows a brown spot.
Next attempt via the NVIDIA control panel 3d everything is set to "NVIDIA only". Some programs displayed prevented the switch, I closed them in the taskbar. A UF test with the "KITTY" results in a brown spot. (I'll tell you more later that switching is prevented when the battery is running with a weak battery.)

Now I wanted to go hard and enable “NVIDIA only” in the BIOS. “KITTY” appeared in IF-Test.
Now I no longer work with the BIOS, but with the NVIDIA control and a full battery or mains connection.

I'm excited about the UF full version and am fully expecting to spice up the generated images with filter functions.

GMM, Tue, 07 Nov 2023 05:37:11 -0500

Quote

steini wrote:
Test shows a brown spot.

steini, the devs are looking into the issue with Ultraforge failing to sel ect the correct video card, and they'd love to get more feedback fr om users who have this issue and were able to fix it manually.

Could you please contact support sending three things:
- your system specs;
- the .UFO file that you are trying to render;
- a screenshot of the brown spot that you get when Ultraforge is picking a wrong video device.

That would be awesome!
I know SDXL is in the works so no questions there, best of luck on getting it.
Will plugins like Automatic1111 supports be added as optional downloads?

Idea: Auto model selection and possible multi model image processing based on prompts. IE Image of amazon forest with a group of people walking down a shallow river. Then UF picks a model & LORA based on land, runs the forest through a land based model and LORA then runs the people through a model and LORA based around people then uses a custom tech to combine them. I say this because I think Mid Journey uses possibly multiple models/loras/hns etc based on the prompt. This would be a option that can be ticked off and on.

Lastly, this is pure curiosity, what features are currently being worked on and what features are you considering working on after you finish the current work? I like secrets, please tell me just one.

GMM said that they are working on this, checkpoint folder needs to be on C right now. that was for the last ultraforge version. have not tested the newest one yet.

Kitty Ai, Sun, 29 Oct 2023 07:29:12 -0400
I put checkpoint file in drive H and found the way to show them by click at 3 dot behind checkpoint list select argument -> covert to Argument.
After that click that 3 dot again and select Argument -> Remove Argument. The checkpoint that you put in UltraforgeVault/SD 1.5 Extras/checkpoints folder will appear.

Valhalla, Mon, 30 Oct 2023 19:12:48 -0400

Valhalla, Mon, 30 Oct 2023 19:18:59 -0400
Thanks Ilmeni / Kitty Ai for your help, especially for the image guide. Not sure why my last reply is blank on my screen.

Valhalla, Wed, 01 Nov 2023 08:51:13 -0400
So, I've learned that if checkpoints don't show up doing what's shown in the image repeatedly will eventually make every checkpoint populate the list. I made a razer macro that does it, but I wrote a small AutoHotkey Script that does it repeatedly so non razer users can use it as well. To use simply put the cursor over the three dots shown in the image by Kitty Ai and hold capslock until all your checkpoints populate the list. The script only works while UF is active so capslock works normally while it's inactive. I've commented everything so you know exactly what the script is doing.

To use it, download AutoHotkey Version 1, make a new text file, open in notepad and paste the following code and save it and then change the file extension from new file.txt to new file.ahk and run it.
#SingleInstance, Force
#Persistent

CapsLock:: ;You can replace Capslock with any key just replace every Capslock with the same key.
;End|Home|ScrollLock|F1-F24|NumLock| These are some example replacement keys.
;All Text In Front Of ; Is A Comment Explaining What The Code Does In An ELI5 Way
IfWinActive, ahk_exe UltraForge.exe ;Checks If UltraForge Is Active - If Not Caps Works As Normal
{
SetKeyDelay, 25
;Sets Key Delay To 25MS |1000 = 1 Second| This Prevents Lag - Increase If Needed - Decrease If Your PC Is Fast
CLD:=GetKeyState("CapsLock", "P")
;CLD Is A 0 or 1 Variable That Detects If Capslock Is Up Or Down 0 = Up 1 = Down
;ToolTip, Capslock State = %CLD%, A_ScreenWidth/2, 0 ;ToolTip At Top Center - Remove ; To Show ToolTip
If(CLD = 1) ;If The CLD Variable Equals 1 | Down Then It Does The Following Action Repeatedly Until Released
{
Send, {LButton} ;Sends Key Listed
Send, {Down 5}
Send, {Right}
Send, {Enter}
Send, {LButton}
Send, {Down 5}
Send, {Right}
Send, {Down}
Send, {Enter}
}
Return ;Returns To Check If Caps Is Still Pressed
}
Send, {CapsLock Down} ;If UF Is Inactive This Makes Caps Work As Normal
KeyWait, CapsLock, Up
Send, {CapsLock Up}
Return
This will speed up adding a large library of checkpoints by 100s of times.
