This effect was generated in Filter Forge, a Photoshop plugin that allows you to create your own filters.
This filter is for making and tweaking bump maps, and for converting one to a normal map.
RGBHSBab: The input channel, from the source image: R/G/B, H/S/B, a/b (from "Lab").
Height gamma: Gamma ramp.

Blur radius: The amount of the blur. Helps to soften artifacts and general noise.
Gaussian blur?: Check to use gaussian blur.
Profile: The grayscale profile of the final image: Linear/Arc/Spik
Low freq opacity: Sets the visibility of the low frequency bumps.
Low freq blur: The softness of the low frequency bumps.
Low freq profile: Same as the profile above.
Invert?: Check to invert the map.
Apply bump?: Check to apply bump and preview the effect of the surface. In this mode FForge also computes the normal map.
Apply to original?: Check to see the original image along with the bumpmap when Apply bump is checked.
