Description

This filter makes an image appear as if it is a charcoal and watercolor painting. Color level will vary from image to image so it is a good idea to first find the color level of a given image before trying to set the other controls. Preset twenty has been configured to place all sliders in the left position except for color level which will be in the rightmost position. This slider should be moved to the left until the brightly colored parts of the image turn white – the rest of the image will remain intact. Next the ‘add pigment’ control should be used to add back the amount of color desired. Next the ‘color flow’ and ‘edge darkening’ controls should be set. As in reality these two effects are highly interactive so it will probably be necessary to try several settings of each. The ‘add color’ control can be used for stubborn images but will usually not be necessary. Now the hard part is over. The charcoal and canvas settings can be configured as desired.
