Description
This is a very simple emboss / bump mapping filter created in mind for metal rust textures and damaged plaster images.It basically tries to smooth out the surface and leave the rust / brick as the darker colour; this is intended to remove “artefacts” when trying to render rusted metal surfaces with a desaturated bump map.This should work with most painted metals / walls of a light colour as the contrast is the key. To help with this, the levels / bump select allows you to switch between the final map and the levels control allowing you to play with the Black / White point and Gamma to get a crisp map. This can be followed by playing slightly with the offset sliders to generate a “light source” balanced bump.
