Was it a try to reach the length limit on a filter name? You've reached it but our library server doesn't like such games.

We'll implement the length check on the client side.

Oh come on, what is this 'twitter', there's a 140 character limit. smile:p I couldn't settle on a name for it, so I started listing off the keywords for it, and then tagged an ending on when I ran out of those.

----Oh shoosh ha-ha, I just gave a filter a long name, if they didn't want ya to give yer filters long names cause it'll screw up their database, then why offer the option ? Anyways, it's just silly, I don't really care, I just don't like lame excuses or people acting like it's my fault when I'm playing their game/rules is all. smile:angel:

hehehe, i thought it was funny. i can only guess they meant this just to insure that everyone would be able to name their filters what they wanted. forcing shorter names is often annoying. the old standard in the 8 bit days was 16 characters and sometimes even eight (or was it only 8?) and that was always annoying when you wanted to name something a bit longer.

So what's the final word on this FF, do I need to make the filter name use fewer characters for it to be accepted properly or ?

Perhaps it's because I'm Canadian.. but personally I try to ADD to Filter forge. I wouldn't want MY product to have a component called "my cat went up the wall and fell on her &&& along POOP! filter". So, I try to name my filters something professional, sensible, perhaps funny, etc.

No big surprise that a filter named so disrespectfully (IMO) would be removed. If it were my company, I'd remove it, or suggest that it be named something appropriate for a filter that a professional designer wouldn't read, then say "this company is a joke" and leave.
