I have seen that when you enter the filter editor and open a filter, there was before on some of the component name a reference of the version of the component, but then later in newer versions this has been removed and now there is no way to know if the color controls are new or not, only I now of some because of the date I have done it and seeing if it was done with an older version of FF.

Would be good if this numbering of the components could be back and see them again in FF 4.0 so you could recognize easily what version is the newest one and be able to use only new components.

Of course that all the components that are taken from the components bar are new ones, but if I take some parts from an another filter, is difficult to know which version of the components are unless they are very old and have some number attached.

I don't think the feature's been removed. I see numbers just as usual. I also think you shouldn't worry about it.

Please, can you tell where do you see the numbers as usual on the components?
Maybe this is only available in the MacOS and not on windows

And when I mean to see the version numbers, I mean of course on NEWER components, and not from older components, because you can still surely see the old components numbers. The example I have put above is from a FF 2.0 filter and you can still see those numbers in FF 4.0, because is compatible with all the old filters fr om FF 1.0 and FF 2.0.

If I open the filter editor in FF 3.0 or FF 4.0 and sel ect any component from the components bar, as far as I know, none of them have any number after the name, so then as I said they have removed all the version numbers of the components after FF 3.0.

Remember: latest version of a component = has no number. Like I say, you shouldn't worry about it.

smile:?: OooH! So this means that ANY component that has NO number attached is because it is the latest version? smile:?:

And so then numbers are shown ONLY IF the component is an old one? smile:?:

I have been trying to load some old filters into FF 3.0 and FF 4.0 and only some components appear to have numbers, and some do not have, so according to this it means that the ones with numbers are older and there is a new version, and the ones without any number are the latest version.

So if it is this way how it works and I am right, I understand it much better and is a good thing to know, and then I like it as it is and nothing needs to be changed

Thanks

I have been trying more and I like it how it works, and having NO numbers on latest versions is better than having a number, because this way is much easier to know which components are new and updated and which ones are old, well thought.

So when opening a filter in filter editor you can spot easily any old filter component because it has a number

Here below is a screenshot of a FF 2.0 open in FF 4.0

Thanks for the information

Sorry that I did not understand you before and I was wrong because I did not know HOW it works the FF version system, and I thought that they had removed all the number versions on newer FF and then you have told that IF there is no number, it means is the latest version, so you are right that they have not removed this feature.
