Using the awesome metalic grid of inujima balls for 2D photos overlay?

I had and idea that I do not know if it would be possible, or could be interesting and look right, but after looking at the awesome and beautiful metalic decoration grid ornament that inujima have applied to Ornamented Ball by inujima filter, specially after the update that gives the real bump and now looks much better, beautiful and realistic.

MY IDEA IS IF IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE TO USE THE BALLS METALICS ORNAMENTS IN 2D PHOTOS

I mean if it would be possible to make a filter that could use the same metalic ornament with that lovely real bump, but INSTEAD of applying this to the balls, it could be applied to in 2D to the image or photo that you have loaded, so it would not be in 3D, just flat 2D covering all the image, and the the image or photo would show through the transparent parts.

HAVE THE METALLIC ORNAMENT IS DIFFERENT SIZE AND POSSIBLE TO SCALE ?

Looking at how the metalic ornament is made I think that probably is not possible to change the size of the ornament decoration and could not be able to resize and scale it as you wanted to choose how it would fill the 2D image, if you want a fine filigree or a big thick metallic ornament.

I just leave this suggestion and idea here, if anyone wants to try it if it would be possible.
