WOW!! Here is the official LE (or light) version fr om the FF Library !!!

This LE version only allow to convert 2D to 3D

The main and most important missing thing, is that you are not allowed to load your own maps as you can on the full version of the filter than can be found here
Spherical 3D Displacement Previewer by ThreeDee V 2.0

And also is missing the very useful and handy Texture Scale setting

And here is mini tutorial on how to use the full version for creating and loading the maps

HOW TO USE THIS FILTER OF Spherical 3D Displacement Previewer (full version)

FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS

The main thread where this started as a tutorial and was shown how to do it and how to use it

Smear 3D by ThreeDee (although it should have been Smudge 3D)

And Indigo Ray has suggested and improvement for this Improved Smudge 3D Quality

And in this thread is wh ere is this was shown really for the first time

Other Interesting Ideas - Smudge 3D (called smear 3D also)

LOTS OF EXAMPLES OF WHAT CAN BE DONE WITH SPHERICAL PREVIEWER FULL VERSION

To see lots of examples made with the Pre-release version 1.0 and 2.0 please go to these threads here

Examples of Spherical 3D Displacement Previewer by ThreeDee

Examples of 2D image converted 3D using ThreeDee´s Spherical Previewer

ALSO INDIGO RAY HAS ANOTHER VERSION OF THIS

Indigo RAy in his own personal thread The Orange Head also started to work with the Smudge 3D on page 7 as shown here

And he has released in the FF Library this filter [Snippet] 3D Smudge by Indigo Ray

ABOUT THIS VERSION AVAILABLE IN THE LIBRARY NOW

Here I have made an example with this LE version of the Library using as a source image this one shown here

And have got this result with the settings that are shown

Although this really does not show at all the very big and real power of this filter and the lots of things that can be done.

WOW this is the most impressive filter Ive seen to date --might I make one recommendation

I took your filter and the initial image input I immediately tiled it 3 times then piped that into a scale so that you could get anything fr om portions of the image to a repetitive tile effect that was properly seamless (if you do the scale without tiling first you get a horrible offset effect.

I saw no noticeable effect on render time either

Again incredible filter congrats --if only my deforms wh ere 1/2 this coold

I agree that this is very impressive and much more smile:)

Good suggestion to improve this LE version of the filter and be able to have some similar result that you can already get with the FULL version of this filter using the Texture Scale slider (not available in this LE version)

I think would be good to update this filter with your suggestion and is a good idea.

The full version uses 3 image input instead of one as it happens in this LE version

Here is how I have done it in the full version 2.0 (this is my own updated version that is available on the same page below)

This filter needs to be fixed also in the spherical projection as it happened also with the first version of the full version of Spherical Displacement 3D

ThreeDee quote:

I fixed the problem I noticed from SpaceRay's examples, the spherizing formula should be properly spherical now.

This was done after he submitted this version available in the FF Library and it has the same problem

Here is one made with the Full version 2.1 that ThreeDee have already fixed
