It's night time for me, on the west coast of the States. Where are you that you call it 'day'? Or am I just assuming you must be somewhere else? Hehe.

To your question, I'm fine, been talking with Persidio about starting up some folders in the GD forum for us when we want to talk off topic in other peoples thread. Not that anyone has complained, but we did sort of hijacked Craig's thread and I feel bad for that. Better to have a place where we can just pick up and say 'come on over here'
or use each other's threads smile:)

Also talking to Ron, wonder if he's still here? His FF ran out about a half hour ago, so we were here with him smile:D

Ok, you got me there. I didn't look at my time, as usual, but I think it was probably just past 11 PM... now it's a little past midnight here.

So to answer your question accordingly, it's been fun, it's been slow and it's been a little sad because of Ron's trial time being up. But I have confidence he will get what he needs eventually to have his own copy soon smile:)

So... how is your day, or was your day, Mystic?

My day was fair, it rained off and on all day. I will use more of Rons filters so it will help him get high usage. It is sad to see that Rons trail ran out, since he has some really fantasic filters. I have 30 days to get 2 more HU filters .

Hmm, I never felt more fortunate that I could buy my 'Standard' version with my 1 HU and an additional discount they were offering at the time. It's like watching struggling artist mom use to tell me about (was trying to scare me from becoming one as a life's career, heh) and now to see you guys struggling...
Well, maybe one day I will be struggling to get my Pro version, but I'll have to start all over again at getting 3 smile;)

Still, you guys are all very good, and it's the motivation that will keep you going till the job gets done smile:D

I've never had so much fun with my graphics artwork as I am having now, all the wonderful filters I could ever want to play with, on top of being able to make my very own, and all the wonderful people here behind the scenes and in the forums... it's quite like having a dream I don't want to wake up from smile:)

I agree with you, I am having a lot of fun with this filter and it like a dream come true, to be able to make my own filters and use them on my own graphic work.
I wish I was able to buy this program, but I am not able to so.
The people here are great, very helpful, friendly and they are like family to me.

You still working on these?

I've been working all day to get my Gem Maker up to it's best but found a bit of a snag that brings me back to slowing it down a bit, but not too much.

Craig helped me with the slower parts and changed the noise component to 2 Perlin instead of the Block and Pyramid ones I had been using, but the Perin made it seem lack-luster to me, so I just put in the Pyramids with one Perlin. Now I got that sparkle back in them. This will be my 3rd or 4th upgrade, can't remember smile:)

Yes I am still working on these, I almost got most of the kinks worked out, I have 3 more presets to make and I am finished with it. I will be doing an upgrade down the road on these .
How is the upgrade comming along?

It's really working nice, takes maybe at the most 3 minutes I think to render a different gem, have put some more controls in for the users to play with the pattern shapes and size too... which I'm getting sidetracked in playing with myself, hehe.

You know, this really is very therapeutic on many levels, I really get lost in the time, like you mentioned yesterday. 5 hours go by but it feels like 5 minutes smile:D

Can't wait to see what you get with this, really love the look of them. They could make very attractive frames too, do you think?

I agree with you about it being very therapeutic, it helps me keep my mind off my migrains and time does fly by when I am working on a filter.
They would make some interesting frames, I have one then I put on the back burnner and will be working on that one next.
Three minutes is not a bad render time, alot faster than some of my bryce render I have done.

Oh well Bryce is very high powered stuff when it comes to all it has to render... sky, ground, water (maybe) lighting and all the objects we put into the scene smile:-p
I remember my first render took almost 2 days smile:eek: Of course I have a much better and faster computer now, so it probably would take maybe 3 hours! Glad to know 3 minutes isn't too bad. I didn't think 4 or 5 was, but others suggested it be toned down, so I did with a little help smile:D

Looking forward to seeing your frames, you really do quite lovely metalwork, Mystic. Anything shiny with lots of rich color and contrasting shadow and light attract me first smile:)

I have a question, how can I save my presets if I've made more but now want to update my filter. I know we can only have 20, so I'm afraid of loosing what I have already... something like 30 gems now smile;)

You can save it with another name in your filter folder like Foxxee's Gem Maker personal usage. That way you can keep the extra one and still have one for the updated version since they will have 2 different names.
I love all type of metals, anything shiney. I think all Ravens do lol
I am almost ready to submitt this filter I just need to firgure out which slider I need to change to am checkbox.
Most of my bryce renders take around 2 hours and I have an old machine.

Ahhh, that's why the forum name, huh? Hehe. Yep, snatch anything that glitters and shines. I'm surprised they haven't tried to catch the sun smile:D

Thanks for the tip, I'll go do that right now, then I need to go to sleep or I'm going to get pretty sick with all the late night sitting up till dawn.

Have a good day, Mystic. I think Ahimsa is in here now too, so will go say good night to her too smile;)
