The clay sticks could be easily converted into a sea anemone. Very cool.

That's a nice texture Totte, the pine needles is a nice touch .......... it's a shame your textures on my monitor come out usually too dark to apprecate the detail easily smile:)

Got a bit of Steampunk in the works, here is a progress smile:)

Hey Sphinx, cool mod, you know the thing I found the hardest is to make these sort of filters Surface and take advantage of the lighting smile:)

Like your gears Carl, I still know where to use them, but not there yet.

I made a light version (more brightness in the environment) of the lichened tar paper with needles.

love the gears, carl!

i like the texture, totte, but the pine needles... why are they all in pairs like that? there's something about the needles that is distracting. they look more like tweezers or bobbypins. not trying to be mean here. maybe we just have different types of pines. like i say, i like the ground texture.

This has a low wow factor and Vlad explicitly stated that this thread is for artwork but since this is beta2 and sort-of interesting, I will post it here.
This is a color correction filter I have been working on.
I am basing the behavior of these controls on the color corrector that ships with Composite (formerly Toxik) which also has color matching capabilities but since, for now, ff works with only one image at a time, it will not be possible to implement those.
Here is what still needs to be done.
Add hue, saturation, contrast controls and break out tone ranges into shadows, midtones and highlights and apply the same set of controls that are currently being applied to the entire image.

MysticBlueRaven your lace is fantastic. Have you tried it with ambient occlusion?

Excellent Carl - 4 minutes is a small price to pay for so much steam punky goodness. smile:)

Color corrector update
Now with exposure!
I have been basing this on composite but the adjustments made to exposure, offset and gamma also match those made in photoshop when using the exposure adjustment layer.
Still have not idea how to do hdr hue phase shifting smile:(

This isn't really enough for an update, and I will move this to another thread for future updates, but I had an extra multiply node in the previous one and I wanted to correct that. This one adds a crude range selector and breaks up one of the channels - it makes it easy to see how much work remains. Btw, all the redundant controls will be consolidated and a slider will select between master, red, green or blue.

Hello, just found this other Beta gallery page from FF 3.0 and found very good examples and beautiful filter effects and some of them could be really good to know how they have been done as they are not available in the FF online library.

For example on this same page above, the great and wonderful Carl´s steampunks gears

Or the original and cool Skybase´s swimmers multipliying

Or also on page 3, the very beautiful, awesome detail and great idea very well done of Sphinx

yes, the good ol' days!

On that part of the note, I don't mean to make pokes about people or anything... but can FilterForge seriously consider closing "ancient threads" to avoid timeless bumps? I swear, I really don't mean to point fingers but some bumps aren't healthy for an active forum environment.

Sorry to have bumped this and If I bothered you, but it was with a good intention, and as the other old beta gallery thread has also been brought back again, I thought it was good too to remember this one that also has some beautiful and lovely works done.

For your suggestion, I have seen that on another forum the old threads are closed when they have no activity after one year, so they can´t be bumped back again and can be left dead and rest in peace.

SpaceRay, with this bump and many others you're seemingly trying to engage original authors of thread previews and filters (including my activities), and you do this in the good belief that me or other authors will publish the filter eventually. I will not: READ AGAIN: NOT!! publish filters of quality unless: a friend needs FF license or FF set out some goal/quest for me or it has qualitative discussion aspects. And why not just publish? Because you (and everyone else) have to do it yourself.. FF is all about DIY, and you but all need to start some contribution other than forum polution/bumping (and yes I swear I mean to point fingers here!).

Or you could restrain yourself. Just because a single user keeps bumping ancient threads, FF should be forced to lock threads? o.O

This is a public forum, not your personal playground, so start showing some respect to other users.

Here are some simple rules for you. Print them out and stick them on your screen.

1. Don´t bump old threads!

2. Don´t post factory presets in a filter comment thread.
It´s unnecessary and just clutters the thread. When having to scroll past these I always wish for a ignore function.

3. Don´t repost pagelong image recaps in a thread.
See above

4. Don´t make multiple posts about the same topic.
Even if you feel every shade of blue deserves it´s own thread, one thread about blue is enough.
