Suggest mentioning on homepage that FF is a stand-alone program as well as a PS plugin...for those who might not have PS...

StevieJ is right.
I found this statement in the download tab page. "Can be used either in the plugin or standalone mode" That is a really important fact and should be on the home page and maybe on the feature page it should say something like that. Perhaps saying "Can be used either as a plugin for Photoshop or in standalone mode" You might also mention other apps that this works as a plugin in, such as Elements or any Corel products that this works with. I'll bet you would see a bump up in sales. Plus some people are moving away from Photoshop because of forced Adobe subscription. Stand alone would be good news for those who never knew that FF can be standalone. |

I mentioned this because I sent some students to try the program...and they didn't because they thought that they needed Photoshop to run it...
Personally, I use FF as stand-alone anyway...it runs much better...and Photoshop ends up being more of a hindrance to using it... Steve

I agree that it would be very important to show and highlight that FF is NOT ONLY a photoshop plugin and that it would seem that it ONLY works if you own photoshop, and also would be good to mention that if you have windows, there is also others software that could be host to FF instead of Photoshop.
Specially now that Adobe have done the subscription only photoshop |

Maybe so, but an overhaul takes time and might get put off. For now all you need to do change the one line on homepage that says. "A plugin for Adobe Photoshop that allows you to build your own filters" I sell software for a living, trust me on this. The profit from changing that one line will be well worth the minutes spent to change it to "Filter Forge as Photoshop plugin or as a stand alone app, lets you build your own filters." Just my 2cents, trying to help. Frank |

Alternate text
"Filter Forge lets you build your own filters. It's both a Photoshop plugin and stand alone application" Longer Alternate text for those not familiar with the term "stand alone". "Filter Forge lets you build your own filters. It can be used with or without Photoshop. It's both a Photoshop plugin and stand alone application" |

I have found this description of Filter Forge that I think is very good and describes better what is really Filter Forge and that is not ONLY a photoshop plugin
Really I use 95% of the time I use the standalone version as I find it easier and better for what I want to do. |
