Can We Have PM Please?

I think it would be so great for the entire community if we could have this in the forums. There are so many times I've wanted to say something private to someone, and because I'm not comfortable sharing my email address, having a PM to message them would help me.

Of course I'm not thinking only of myself, I think it would help a lot of us in being able to iron out some misunderstandings, and help keep some things between the person we may wish only to share it without the entire community and lurkers listening in on it all.

If we need to clear something up we can PM that person, if we need to ask for personal help outside of FF we can PM that person, or we can just use it for quick referencing back and forth where this would be great, and not just for me. I won't have to come into the forum and tell so-and-so to please reply to my post and not email me... that was sort of embarrassing for me to do to Buccaneer

i have mixed feelings on pm's. there are times when a private message is useful. but, having been a moderator on more than one forum, i also see it abused a lot as well. no telling how many idiot pm's i've gotten over the years. 'hi, can you answer my question that i'm too embarrassed to ask in the normal forum even though it's a normal forum question?' aaarrrrgggg! go away! 'hi, can you tell me what the FAQ says?' *goes to find a gun* 'hi, i just read the instructions. can you tell me what it says, please?' *bangs on the person's head to see if anyone is in there* 'hi, this software doesnt work. can you help me please?' 'uh, ok, WHAT SOFTWARE?' *reminds himself that he cant see over everyone's shoulders*

lol. as long as you allow for the option of having it turned off, i suppose it's ok.
