Hello,
I have seen this wonderful and beautiful photo collage made of thousand of oranges (that can be seen below at the end), and inmediately I thought about my lovely Filter Forge and have thought if there would be a filter already made to be able to make something like the photo shown here below. I have seen only one filter that could be similar - Scatter selection by ThreeDee ---> http://www.filterforge.com/filters/5124.html But could not find one filter that keeps the main photo in the center, and then multiplies the same photo a thousand times (or more) to fill all the background with much smaller copies in different sizes. So please, I want to ask you if you know if there is already a filter that could be able to make the photo effect shown in the oranges photo below I hope that there would already something like this, as it cold give very beautiful images, as you could put, for example, a rose, and multiply it all over the background.Or you could REALLY save your life, just using the default Filter Forge lifesaver, as you would have a sea full of lifesavers in different sizes ![]() SHADOW ?? I thought that probably would be better to have a shadow in each orange, but then looking again more to the original photo, I think that it would probably spoil the photo and make it worse, as what looks interesting is that all the oranges makes a big mesh and mixes all toghether, so if there was a shadow it would not be the same. SHAPE COLLAGE TO MAKE THIS EFFECT ? IF there was no filter in Filter Forge, I have thought also that I couls use the www.shapecollage.com software than can multiply photos, BUT it can not resize the photos in different sizes, unless you already give to the program the oranges prepared already made as source in different sizes, BUT even then it WILL NOT keep the central photo, although you could paint a white circle and leave all the other black to fill the background. I would have to try it, but I do not think that I would get this wonderful effect shown here in this photo below, and think that Filter Forge could make it much better, and also could be customizable, and in shapecollage you can´t. Original photo found here --->http://sp.depositphotos.com/1156016/s...round.html In the weblink there is a larger version to see. Thanks very much for your help ![]() |

WOW ! CFandM This looks really beautiful and perfect, as jffmiller have said, excellent work !!! What a great surprise that you are already working on it !!
Very beautiful the examples you have put, lovely. Great work !
I would not ask for more things, but as you are asking I could suggest some things that could be added, only if they are possible to make and be able to add and is not much work to do. Well thinking of this here are my suggestion that you could probably think if you want and can be possible to add, it´s up to you : 1 - I would like that the images surrounding the big central image could be resized as you wanted, I mean if you them to be big, medium, small or extra small, and be able to mix sizes. 2 - Another thing I can think is to have a random different size variant of the surrounding images. And also if possible, to be able to control the sizes yourself. 3 - And thinking more is the possible slider to be able to leave all the surrounding images at the same size, or the opposite, mix them very much in many different sizes, like seen on the oranges photos. 4 - And looking at the oranges photo and also to the apple and flower you have put, would be possible also to be able to choose if the images could cross over the main central image as in the apple, or a choice that none of the images can be seen over the central image, or as it happens in the oranges, only a little bit of oranges are going over the border of the main central image. 5 - Also thinking more about it, could it be possible to choose how many images would there be surrounding the central image ? I mean, if you want only a few, or do you want 500, 1000 or more. 6 - I think it would be also important to be able to choose the spacing between each image, so if you want them very close toghether, or you want to leave enough room to each one of the images. 7 - What happens when the canvas is NOT square ? I mean like in the oranges photo that is a rectangular size. Sorry, that I am asking too much and could be too much work to include all this, but you can do whatever you want, and do it your way, these are only suggestions and only if they are possible or not. FOR Filter Forge 3 You can release the version for FF 2, and then if it would be possible, you could make in FF 3 able to have multiple images instead of only one, and to choose only one image as the central image. Thanks really very much for all your work and for making it very nice as shown here. |

Thanks jffmiller ![]()
Thank you very much Spaceray....Well I had a couple of days off of work and did all the yard-work so... Thought I'd give it a go.. ![]()
Nope not much work at all...
The filter is for square and non-square sizes....Its based on the selection that you make in your graphics app....You have a choice of re-sizing the middle image and moving it around on the canvas... The others are doable just need to figure out how to control these without there being to many controls on this filter..... ![]() ![]() Two more images.. ![]() ![]() Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

Great that it is for square or non-square and is based on selection, so you could have a central figure and a much longer sides if you want to, or in vertical up and down larger. Also very good to be able to resize the middle image AND very good that you can MOVE it around the canvas!!
Good to know that it could be possible, and as said before it´s up to you to do it in the best way, it´s your filter and you know what can do and what can´t, and you can include or not the features you consider and think that fit best, and surely you will get it in the best way as you are an expert Filterforger.
Great that you enjoy it and it´s not much work to you, as said before here it is easy for you because you are an expert Filterforger (and the same is for a lot of you other that make such a wonderful and awesome filters and have such great and innovative ideas)
WOOOW !!!!!! I can´t believe my eyes ![]() I love the work both of you are doing here and your filters work ![]() I was not wrong when I thought that the oranges photo could be done in FF ![]() ![]() Thanks a million for you good work !! |

I have just thought that I will contact the artist creator of this image in DepositPhoto and ask directly how did he create this beauty.
Perhaps will not tell me the secret of how was done, but if I do not ask, I will never know and I do not have nothing to loose. From my experience in many softwares and what can be done, I could bet that it was done on Filter Forge or made with the alternative DNA similar software also available. After seeing the Indigo Ray excellent version, I would bet 95% that it was made in Filter Forge ![]() |

Nope..Well kinda just experimenting with it at the moment but nothing concrete nor usable without going into the editor to change settings.... I don't get to use FF as much as I would like lately but also some filter take a little bit of time to create.... ![]() ![]() ![]() Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

When using the above filter heres the process to follow in your graphics app.....
In PS using the apple as an example....It was from a bigger pic so I masked out the apple I wanted to use....Then put it on its own layer and applied the mask so it was on a single layer with an alpha mask...Then shrink it down and place it in the middle of the canvas....Then you can resize it in the above filter......This is what the canvas looks like before processing in the filter...... ![]() ![]() Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |

Heres a version that fixed the alpha maps...Forgot to use those...The previous version uses threshold instead which causes dark outlines....bleech...

Took a while to figure out how to organize the different layers...You can render each individually for further masking in PS...

If at first I give you thanks for this, I MUST NOW GIVE YOU A THOUSAND THANKS, no wait this is not enough, I GIVE YOU A MILLION THANKS
![]() I have tried it a little and is really awesome, impressive and jaw dropping the results you can get if you choose VERY WELL the source and prepare it right as you have told in this thread. I will put some of the results I have got later to see the really excellent and great quality you can get, and this nearly without modifying very little the default presets available. This filter alone can change really much the way it coud be done many creative projects and works. AND NOW WITH MULTIPLE IMAGES IN FF 3.0 ???? And If I wasn´t enough impressed and astonished with the FF 2.0 filter, now you put a wonderful and stunning preview of this filter with multiple images support for FF 3.0 and is really looking lovely and beautiful and as very well you have shown in the example it could be used for artistic portraits (I do not do this kind of things but for the one who does it could be very useful) So now after seeing the FF 3.0 version, I give you TWO MILLION THANKS ![]() Thanks very much for your excellent experience and skills to be able to make this well done filter. |

I have already put a comment to thank you again in the released FF 3.0 version of your great filter ---> http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...ssage96471 Now 3 months after the first news of this filter you have been able to submit this wonderful and awesome filter and today has been published. I will have to try it now and see what can be done with this gem of filter. As said before, when released the FF 3.0 version I would give you TWO MILLION THANKS, and so as today is this a reality I send them to you. ![]()
No, Sorry I do not like, it. Did I say that I just like it ? ![]() To say that I like it, is not true, and is not enough, I LOVE IT VERY MUCH ? ![]() |

I have found this very old thread from 2011 by chance, and I have got good feelings and want to thank again (2 million and one more
![]() Also this was when FF 3.0 was just released and included the awesome possibility of having multiple images in bomber that changed everything It has been said that for FF 5.0 the bomber will be updated again, so I hope and wish it may something as great as the multi image support, in the way that it changed very much the way to use bomber This below is a multiple image with similar ones, I mean that have simlar design, but ones have holes or halo in different sizes ![]() |
