It occured to me that a neat little addition might be to have the ability to "lock" the value of any of the exposed controls, so those don't get affected by a click of the Randomizer button.

I was exploring the output of a filter but wanted a particular colour palette and ended up copying the filter, and then editing out the colour pickers and "hard coding" the colours I wanted there so they wouldn't be affected by the randomized values of each click.

...and I thought a little lock icon beside the control would have been alot handier smile:)

It's not possible to suggest this feature too much.....it's an obvious feature that should be with this program....and hopefully, if we scream enough about it smile:D , it might get higher on the "priority" list..... smile;) smile:D

In addition, I would be an extremely happy camper if there was a "global size disconnect" option on all relative components (making many filter constructions so much easier without work-arounds).....and full parameter control over HDRIs (no bad areas under high randomization)..... smile:devil:

Okay, Okay.....I'll just be thankful that the "resource leak" seams to be remedied..... smile;) smile:D ...... smile:beer:

what the heck is a 'global size disconnect'?
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Acts the same as the "Fixed Size" checkbox on the Frame component....locks out the global "Size, Pixels" control from affecting it. Having that same option on all components that are tied to the "Size, Pixels" control would end alot of needless work-arounds to make that control "functional".....it would actually make the global size control more functional.....and end the need for authors to warn users with "keep the size control maximized or it will break the effect" on many filters that have no work-arounds to avoid it.....

put a little box next to each control. in fact, put two, about the size of one of the smilies on here. one is for locking the control from changing when you hit 'randomize' and one for locking the 'size, pixels' effect, and yeah, i'm fine with those.

Sort of like this: smile;)

btw: randomizer locks seem to be a high priority thing; seems like it gets suggested every couple of months or so.

***cough*** smile:D

I think getting control locks for use in randomization would be pretty gosh-darn important for this program.....right??? smile:beer: Thanx for pic, CC smile:)
