Hello,

There is something that I have been a lo of time in my mind and hand not asked before and that is why there is NO option to work on the whole workspace size if you want to and be able to make a Zoom to fit the available working screen size.

I mean that when using the reduced preview size you can´t in any way use the zoom, because what it does is enlarge the already reduced very low resolution preview screen so you get very blocky pixels that are not really real and not a useful preview of the real image.

As seen in the attached file I have put there is a very wide grey margin in the work space area of the preview window, and there is no way to fill the screen with quality preview other than choose Preview Size > Actual and then zoom out to nearly fit the screen as you can´t fit exactly in actual or reduced preview as seen on the second attached image.

Even then, using Actual preview you can´t make that the image really is adjusted to fit the work space window size and get the most larged size in the space available.

AND MUCH IMPORTANT, if you really need to change to Actual view, the preview will be really MUCH slower and take a lot of time to preview, so that is why the reduced view was created to make faster rendering preview, but the problem is that is a very reduced previe that can´t fill the screen size and many times you can´t see really very good the resulting image filter effect unless you choose Actual size because there is no option for a QUALITY zoom of the reduced preview.

Ihave not been able top find a way way that zoom will fit with the image the whole screen, I mean the workspace available that is the grey part, and this is either in Reduced or Actual preview size

Sorry, I do not undestand why is not possible to have a preview that could fit exactly inside the preview windows and get zoomed and expanded to the maximum possible size of the avalable resolution window.

And why when trying to use the zoom to be able to simulate this, you can´t do it because none of the zoom options available will fit inside the window so it can get the most possible size inside the preview window.

I have seen lots of imaging and photo software that can usually get the preview to fit the preview screen or have a zoom preview option to fit the most available size.

So I wonder why FF can´t do it. Is there any technical reason for this ? Or is it a programming that takes lot of time and work to do ?

I do not want that you explain it why not, and only to know if it is because of a technical reason, like happens with the GPU acceleration, or is other reason, no complex answer neeeded.

Thanks very much

As no one have answered, I wonder if there is any technical reason why is not possible to have a real zoom to fit preview of the images without cutting it, and not have the 600x600 reduced preview to fit inside the FF screen.

As said Above I do not ask for any complex answer, just to know why in most other graphical software there is already available as standard and found nearly everywhere BUT in FF you can´t do it.

Probably the problem is that FF is NOT a normal graphics program and do NOT USE graphic photos or images as any other program, and I think that the problem is that the image needs to be RENDERED in some way for it to be previewed, BUT the same that they have made the new faster Preview, could also make it that the preview could zoom to fill the full width of the screen available or zoom to fit all the available screen and be able to see all the image inside the screen without using the very reduced 600x600 option.

Oh YES !! This is THE SOLUTION, WOW, Sorry, I did not know that you can zoom WAY in with the scroll whell of the mouse and be able to get awesome and beautiful interpolated graphics in very blocky and jagged style in very low resolution !!!!

Sorry to be sarcastic, but this I already knew form start that you can zoom with mouse scroll wheel BUT THIS ZOOM IS NOT REAL, I mean it does NOT enlarge in good quality high resolution, IT ONLY takes very low resolution 600 x 600 image and enlarge it making very bad interpolation and giving lovely and beatiful very blocky pixels.

Perhaps in the title I should have said that i want a HIGH QUALITY HIGH RESOLUTION ZOOM TO FIT

ZOOM TO FIT IN AVAILABLE WINDOW SPACE WITH SCROLL WHEEL MOUSE ?

ALSO Please, tell me how is possible to make a zoom to fit with the scroll wheel mouse ??? I have tried to zoom even with the block and bad quality BUT I can´t fit the whole image inside the available window space as shown in the photos above, please, please if you know how, just tell me and I will be grateful to you.

I still find annoying that you can´t fit thw WHOLE image filter result inside the available space for the preview, it is always too small, or too big and goes a little out of the screen.

Obviously if the resolution of the image is lower than the available screen, is not possible to enlarge it to fit the screen unless you get it interpolated, or pixelated.

BUT why a large resolution image can´t be resized to fit exactly on a full open window available (the grey preview part) keeping the original aspect ratio?
