Slow rendering?

Why is filter forge so slow? Im using an Imac with plenty of memory and ram etc. Ive had this trial programme for less than 24 hours and already losing patience with it. Im also finding it really difficult to find any tuts for complete beginners to make their own filters.

what model of iMAc you have, I mean, wich CPU does it have, as it is the most important thing for the speed of Filter Forge.

Yes, filter forge is slow on old computers, I have an AMD X2 4400 2,3 Ghz and the filters are slow, but it depends very much on wich filter you are using, because I have seen that some can get the results in some seconds, and some take several minutes, depending of which filter you use and the configuration you use, and very important also is the size of the result you want it to render.

So to try it choose different filters, and different sizes and configuration.
